NAILS | Rose Quartz #CBBxManiMonday

It's my first nails of the year! This month, the girls and I will be playing with the theme of "Experimentation" which means I have been looking at new (and some VERY old) techniques that I have not tried starting with the "Rose Quartz" nail art trend from a little while ago! It looked so fast in all of the videos I watched, but in reality I'm not that great with "organic" designs so my manicure kind of just looks like wavy white lines, but oddly enough they turned out kind of pretty.

Half the battle for this manicure was finding the right shade of pink that was sheer enough to layer while still being able to see the white polish lines. Unfortunately, I don't own a lot of these sheer shades, because I hate them and usually wear manicure that are far from neutral. Thankfully, I kept ONE sheer pink shade from the CND "Yes I Do!" Bridal collection released last Spring which saved me!

I started off with two coats of CND Vinylux "Veiled" and then diluted some white polish in nail polish thinner to make some veiny lines. I applied one more coat of "Veiled", added a few more white lines and then added one more coat of "Veiled". I don't know if you can tell, but I also added a top coat with tiny gold flakes in it before sealing it all in with a fast drying top coat. I don't normally use TWO top coats, but with so many coats of polish, my nails were taking MUCH longer than an episode of "Fuller House" to dry!
