Wow, I did not realize I had been away from this space for over a week! This is kind of what happens when I work five days in a row, which I realize a large portion of the population does anyway, but this rarely happens for me since I work in retail so I am used to working shorter stretches and getting a bit of a recharge in between. Unfortunately, I just did not have the energy to sit at the computer without fading so here we are a week later with a set of nails!

This month's theme has been traditionally pink and red and as cheesy as I think Valentine's Day is, I love those shades for nail art and I am looking forward to sharing more of this colour theme with you all this month! Today's nail art has been brewing in my mind ever since I reviewed the YSL Pur Couture Lipsticks last month. The packaging was absolutely adorable and right away I knew that I had to recreate the pattern on my nails!
Trying to find the exact shades of nail polish to match the lipstick cases was a bit of a challenge, but I eventually found them in my OPI collection! For the pink I used two coats of OPI Excuse Me Big Sur!* and for the red, I used OPI Infinite Shine Can't Tame a Wild Thing*. I carefully created a French tip using some black polish and then added the silver polka dots using a dotting tool and OPI Infinite Shine Silver on Ice*. I wanted to incorporate the YSL logo somehow, but really couldn't figure out nor wanted to mess up what I had already so after a coat of top coat, I called it a night! I love how they turned out and how perfectly they match the case!
