SHEET MASK | Biotherm Aqua Flash Masks

This edition of #SheetMaskSunday is coming to you reeeaal late because it has been a busy couple of days at work, but thankfully not as exhausting as previous years as the pandemic has definitely made people slow down with purchasing goods in person which I totally understand as I have been doing the same myself. I did go to the mall to pick up an online order from Lush and while it was generally fairly quiet, some stores like Bath and Body Works had line ups as did Lush, but luckily online pickups mean you go to the front of the line! They also gave me a free FULL SIZE Comforter Bubble Bar with my $35 order so that was kind of cool!

Biotherm Aqua Flash Mask Review

I have a bit of a love affair with the Biotherm Aquasource hydrogel mask so when these Flash Masks appeared at Shoppers Drug Mart I was very curious as each of these masks contains the same concentration of Biotherm's coveted Life Plankton Essence as in a 50mL bottle of the matching Super Concentrate! I have never tried the Super Concentrates so these masks were a good little window into what they would be like and I am now most certainly interested in at least one of them!

All of the Flash Masks have a "second skin" like fit which quite honestly was the truth and had me very impressed! They are made of cotton and all were soaking in essence making the fit really nice with no lumps and bumps!

Aqua Glow
Biotherm Aqua Glow Flash Mask Review

The Aqua Glow mask was my favourite as I felt like it had the most immediate results. This essence is a combination of Life Plankton Essence and Vitamin C and is all about glow, glow, glow!

Biotherm Aqua Glow Flash Mask Review

Ingredients: aqua, glycerin, butylene glycol, pvm/ma copolymer, glyceryl acrylate/acrylic acid copolymer, sodium hyaluronate, sodium polyacrylate, sodium polyacrylate starch, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, hydroxyacetophenone, caprylyl/capryl glucoside, vitreoscilla ferment, xanthan gum, salicylic acid, phenoxyethanol, parfum

Biotherm Flash Mask

Mask Summary:

Price: $12 CDN
Skin concerns: Hydration and glow
Scent: Slightly perfume-y like how "water" smells when fragranced?
Essence Type: Thick, clear gel
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: Very good! Feels super secure and fitted around the chin!
Tackiness: Light
Hydration: Good!
Other notes: The mask comes with a protective layer that is peeled off, but it also also has little tabs on the sides and top of forehead for easy peel off! I had an instant glow after removal that lasted well after the essence had been absorbed into my skin!

Aqua Bounce
Biotherm Aqua Bounce Flash Mask Review

I found the Aqua Bounce very similar to the Aqua Flash mask as the formulation is near identical with the exception of vitamin C in the Aqua Flash mask. If you like the Flash mask, you will probably enjoy this one as the hydration boost from this gives a glow as well!

Aqua Pure

The Aqua Pure is targeted to more combination skin with its blend of Life Plankton Essence and salicylic acid and was the one I was most hesitant to try as I don't normally seek out purifying products or products with salicylic acid in them. While my skin didn't react or feel different in any way, I felt like it was redder than usual.

Biotherm Aqua Flash Mask Review

Final verdict: Aqua Glow is probably the one I would repurchase and maybe Aqua Bounce depending on how I'm feeling as I found the fit really nice, hydration level very solid and I liked how soaked in essence the cotton masks were. At $12, they are more on the bougie side of skincare, but not completely out there.

Have you tried the Biotherm Aqua Flash Masks or the Super Concentrates?
