SHEET MASK | Biotherm Aqua Flash Masks

This edition of #SheetMaskSunday is coming to you reeeaal late because it has been a busy couple of days at work, but thankfully not as exhausting as previous years as the pandemic has definitely made people slow down with purchasing goods in person which I totally understand as I have been doing the same myself. I did go to the mall to pick up an online order from Lush and while it was generally fairly quiet, some stores like Bath and Body Works had line ups as did Lush, but luckily online pickups mean you go to the front of the line! They also gave me a free FULL SIZE Comforter Bubble Bar with my $35 order so that was kind of cool!

SHEET MASKS | Top 11 Sheet Masks for 2019

Some PR samples featured and will be marked with an "*"

2019 was definitely the year of the sheet mask with many brands surprising me with ones of their own. I made a list of all of the sheet masks that I tried this year (yes, there were a lot!) and these 11 sheet masks were the ones that stood out so let's get started!

SHEET MASK | New Biotherm Aquasource Aura Water Jelly Sheet Mask #100DaysofSheetMasks

Biotherm has a new sheet mask and it's seriously a good one! The new Aquasource Aura Water Jelly Sheet Mask* is a hydrogel sheet mask containing 500,000 distilled droplets of medicinal aura leaf thermal water which, if you have been following Biotherm since Life Plankton Essence, is kind of their thing! Thermal water is supposed to contain some major skin healing and revitalizing properties because of the richness in minerals and in addition to taking your skin from zero to hero, does not contain artificial colouring, fragrance, parabens, alcohols, silicones (YAY!) or mineral oil!

SKINCARE | Biotherm Life Plankton Essence in Mask #100DaysofSheetMasks

The last time I featured Biotherm on this blog was a whopping FIVE years ago when we only had blogs to read and no Instagram accounts to maintain as well! While I was a fan of Biotherm's body products (their Lait Corporel is an orange lover's heaven!), I have never been a huge fan of their skincare. Not because it doesn't work, but because I feel there is always a lot of hype around their products, but when it comes time to look at the ingredients list, they just aren't as impressive as I think they should be. Though I have had the opportunity through press samples to try quite a bit of Biotherm product, there have only been a few things here and there that have caught my eye and they are the three in this photo - Life Plankton Essence, Aquasource Aura Concentrate and now the Life Plankton Essence-In-Mask!

November 2013 Empties

I’m not going to lie, I made my husband carry these empties to our new apartment. I may not have told him what was inside the box, but he dutifully hauled over all of my beauty products whether they were filled with product or not! Let’s see what I managed to get through for the month of November!

Topbox | October Cosmetics Magazine Edition

When I saw that Topbox had an upgrade available for October with a Shiseido product in it, I don’t think I even hesitated to type in my credit card number to authorize the upgrade as I believed that the additional $5 (Topbox is normally $12) was well worth the upgrade considering what I would be receiving! The size of the Topbox was very tall, similar in size to the Chatelaine Topbox and also included a Cosmetics magazine.

July Favourites

We are already halfway through the summer, isn’t it crazy? We’re seeing clothes and beauty collections for the Fall season and summer is on its way out according to the retail world! I was on vacation for half of July so my makeup routine was fairly minimal by sticking with items that got me out the door in no time flat!

1. Biotherm Lait Corporel Anti-Drying Body Milk

I have reviewed the body butter version of this before which I love for winter, so the body milk version is much lighter in consistency therefore making it much more comfortable to use in warmer months. It absorbs quickly into the skin and still has that glorious orange scent that I love. It seriously smells like real oranges!

2. Juice Beauty Lip Gloss in Pink

I received this in May’s Ipsy Bag and it is lovely! It smells like my favourite thing…oranges! I have been layering this purple gloss over my pink-toned lipsticks and have been loving the results! It doesn’t stay glossy for very long on me because it’s not one of those super sticky glosses, but it’s such a pretty purple that I don’t mind having to reapply.

3. Julep Mighty Nail and Cuticle Serum

This sleek-looking tool arrived in my April Julep Maven Box and what I love about this serum is that for nail pictures, it takes away the visual dryness of my cuticles without leaving an oily finish that might show up in pictures. It dries so quickly that my nails are photo ready in a matter of seconds. I wouldn’t use this if I needed an intense blast of hydration though. For that, I would stick to good ol’ greasy cuticle oil!

4. Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Mascara

I talked about this mascara in my review of MUFE’s new Smoky Extravagant mascara and what I love about this mascara is that in addition to volume, it looks like I have many more lashes than I do when I wear it! The formula is very smooth and does not clump at all unlike that of Smoky Extravagant.

5. Fresh Brown Sugar Eau de Parfum

You can probably see from the picture that I barely have any left because I have been using this rollerball to death! I love how different the scent is and for those of you who love Fresh products, you can guess that Brown Sugar smells just as amazing as every other Fresh product! It’s light, sweet and refreshing. I promise, you will love it!

6. & 7. Clinique Chubby Stick for Eyes in Ample Amber and Fuller Fudge

This was my first foray into the Clinique Chubby Stick world and even though I wasn’t wowed by the application of all the colours, these two browns were my favourite. These are much smoother than the Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Shadow Pencils and with primer, can last a whole work day. I use Ample Amber on the inner corners and first 2/3 of my eyes and then finish the outer corners with Fuller Fudge while blending the two. Together these have made the perfect natural eye duo for me!

8. Julep Freedom Polymer Top Coat

Other than my LED story from my tuxedo nail art post, this top coat is actually quite amazing. It dries in minutes and leaves a crazy shine behind!

9. Lise Watier Sun Smart Tinted Universal UV Shield SPF 30

I have been LIVING in this for most of the July and whenever I’m out and about now. This gives me the protection I need while giving my skin a beautiful bronzed colour. It also evens out my skin tone and gives me skin the most flawless appearance!

See you next month!

Review-Biotherm Beurre Corporel Body Butter

Growing up in a country that has French as a second language, I find it a little strange to use the above title because I have literally said “body butter” twice in a row. I have mentioned this body butter as one of my February Luvs and boy has it been my friend this past winter season! This body butter is for dry to very dry skin so I use it mainly on my legs as they seem to be the most in need of moisture. There is a lighter version of this body butter in the form of a body milk and will be what I will switch to in the warmer months.

Repair and protect your dry skin from external aggressions. Harsh winter winds, damaging sun rays and electric heating strip moisture from the skin leaving it rough and dehydrated.

February Luvs

I feel like I’ve been in a rut when it comes to favourites. I feel like I’m just wanting to stick with products that are comfortable and safe…with the exception of Maybelline’s Colorsensational Vivids! If it weren’t for those Vivids, I really would be a plain Jayne and you guys wouldn’t want to be friends with me anymore!

November 2012 Empties!

With November favourites come November empties, so let’s get this empties party started shall we?! I wasn’t too good about the full sized products, but I did get through my samples which always gives me a nice boost of “you can do it!”

Shoppers Drug Mart Fall Beauty Bonus!

I actually didn’t plan on getting the Fall Beauty Bonus, but then I got involved in beauty box swaps and realized that this bonus plus the 20x events happening this week was the perfect time to get items for my international swaps! If any of you get involved with swapping, it reminds me of having pen pals as a kid, but much more awesome! I won’t show what I got for my swaps, just what I purchased for myself, but to qualify for the Fall Beauty Bonus, I needed to spend $125 on cosmetics and I did it with $128 worth of product. I cut it pretty close! Let’s see what I got!

I love pampering myself with face masks at least two or three times a week so I had to try a couple of yummy-sounding ones from the Balea line. These Balea sachets are 3 for $5 and I can usually I can get around three uses out of each one.

Shopper Drug Mart MEGA Points Redemption Event!

Hello!

If anyone has yet to take advantage of the mega redemption event, today is the last day! It feels like I haven’t done one in awhile, but then when I went through my blog entries, it turns out I just did one in February! Hehe, oh well! Same as last time, I went with a friend of mine and just made it a girls night. I had was able to get $200 of product and I got away with just paying the taxes! Love redemption days!

DSCF4016

I picked up the Korres Cool Summer Set which contained Yoghurt After-Sun Cooling Gel and travel-sized sample of their Guava Body Butter because I always like slathering on something cooling after being in the sun and Korres definitely made this cooling gel sound very appealing!

Then came the Quo by Orly 5 Ombre Nail Lacquer Set because I really wanted that second to last royal blue colour (no name) and Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Glass Slipper which I have been eyeing since it came out. After reading some positive reviews and having a good sniff, I finally picked up Taylor Swift’s Wonderstruck and even though I’m turning 29 next month, I look forward to smelling like I’m 19. The bottle was also just too cute!!

DSCF4019

Next on the list was Biotherm Softening Exfoliating Cleansing Gel which will be my first Biotherm product! I don’t know whether I got this because it’s pink or whether I really needed a cleanser, but at the new price of $19 (before it was $30) I thought it might be worth a try. Too further add to my collection of Maybelline Baby Lips, I picked another one up in Pink Punch.

I ended up my little shopping spree with Benefit goodies of Benefit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Coralista and Benefit Hoola Boxed Bronzer! I wanted a colour brighter than Sugarbomb so Coralista was perfect and I was looking for a bronzer that didn’t have shimmer to it making Hoola a great option! I walked out of Shoppers a VERY happy gal!

Did anyone else take advantage of mega redemption weekend? If you did, I want to see your hauls! I showed you mine, now you show me yours Winking smile
