I was quite surprised when I saw this collaboration as Drew Barrymore was the last celebrity I would have imagined partnering up with a Korean beauty brand! Released in 2018, this collection is modeled after Drew's favourite Jayjun mask, the Baby Pure Shining Mask which I have reviewed before and LOVED and comes in three steps. These are one of my favourite ways of masking as I find it so cute and efficient to have my entire skincare routine all in one little compact package. Whenever I travelled, these were the masks I would take as it made packing skincare a tad more efficient. I picked up all three masks from "The More" Collection each with its own unique skincare focus.
More Than Seanol Wrinkle Care Mask
Price: I paid $3.99 USD at a now defunct Korean e-tailer.
Skin concerns: Fine lines, wrinkles
Scent: None
Essence Type: Thick, clear gel
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: A little wrinkly around the jawline
Tackiness: Very light
Hydration: Not bad, but because of the drier weather I added a few drops of Omorovicza Miracle Oil
Other notes: The mask soaked up a lot of essence!
More Than Green Tox Cleanse Mask
Mask Summary More Than Green Tox Cleanse:
Price: I paid $3.99 USD at a now defunct Korean e-tailer.
Skin concerns: Congestion, purifying
Scent: None
Essence Type: Thick, slightly milky gel
Duration: 20 minutes
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: A little wrinkly around the jawline
Tackiness: Medium
Hydration: Pretty intense! No further moisturizer was really needed, but I like my Omorovicza Miracle oil, so I used two drops.
Other notes: The mask soaked up a lot of essence!
Mask Summary More Than Nutrition:
Price: I paid $3.99 USD at a now defunct Korean e-tailer.
Skin concerns: Dullness, hydration
Scent: None
Essence Type: Cloudy, super watery.
Duration: 20 minutes
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: A little wrinkly around the jawline and hard to smooth out around the eyes and nose.
Tackiness: Light
Hydration: Was good without having to use the third step of the "Nutrition Cream", but my skin looked brighter and felt a bit more "complete" once I applied the moisturizer. Note that I did not use all of it.
Other notes: Though the mask was the same material, it did not soak up the watery essence as nicely as the masks with the thicker gel consistency.
Final verdict: Out of all three masks, I would only repurchase the "More than Nutrition" mask as I saw immediate results. The Seanol mask is a close second as it played nicely with my facial oil with my skin having a healthy overall glow. I have always found the Jayjun masks to be pretty solid, but I felt like the fit of these masks was not quite as good as their other ones, but I am really splitting hairs here. These masks were totally worth the try and a great way to get to know the essence (pun intended) of the brand!
You can find the Jayjun Cosmetic x Drew Barrymore "The More" Collection at various Korean e-tailers.
