Did you know H&M had sheet masks? I did not until I was exchanging a few things some time last year and got caught at the infamous checkout counter where a number of sheet masks and beauty items were displayed with the purpose of distracting me and making me spend more money! Well, it worked and I was pleasantly surprised with the overall quality of the masks!
Pick Me Up Energising Sheet Mask
The Pick Me Up hydrogel mask is for all skin types and comes in two pieces which is always a good sign as it means the mask will generally fit quite well. This mask contains red algae and vitamin B5 which is generally known to hydrate and reduce redness.
Mask Summary:
Price: $6.99 CDN
Skin concerns: Hydration, dullness
Scent: Sweetly floral
Essence Type: Clear, slightly viscous
Duration: 20 minutes
Thickness: Medium, but very soft and pliable
Mask Fit: Chin piece fit really well! Forehead piece fell a bit short.
Tackiness: Light
Hydration: Good!
Other notes: Textured on one side (this is the side to apply to face)
Thirst Quencher Hydrating Sheet Mask
I don't see this available on the website which is kind of sad as it was a favourite of mine as I loved the fruity scent! This mask also contains vitamin B5 as well as three different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid making this mask much more impressive than I thought it would be! I would not have expected that from a random skincare product I picked up from the checkout aisle!
Mask Summary:
Price: $6.99 CDN
Skin concerns: Dryness
Scent: Like raspberry!
Essence Type: Clear, slightly viscous
Duration: 20 minutes
Thickness: Medium, but very soft and pliable
Mask Fit: Chin piece fit really well! Forehead piece fell a bit short.
Tackiness: Light
Hydration: Good!
Other notes: Textured on one side (this is the side to apply to face)
Freshen Up Hydrating Sheet Mask
I actually didn't realize this was a biocellulose mask until I took it out to use. I have said this many times before, but generally biocellulose is more expensive to make so again this is something I would not have expected H&M to carry. The actual biocellulose material is in itself healing as it reduces inflammation and hydrates. The mask also contains vitamin B5 and Moutan peony extract which is also hydrating and come with antioxidant properties. Note that this mask does have a small amount of dimethicone in its ingredients list which is why this mask wasn't the least bit tacky.
Mask Summary:
Price: $6.99 CDN
Skin concerns: Dullness, hydration
Scent: None really. All biocellulose has the same neutral scent that is sort of hard to describe, but I think it has something to do with the bacterial fermentation process
Essence Type: Clear, slightly viscous
Duration: 20 minutes
Thickness: On the medium side for biocellulose which was nice as I was expecting it to be quite thin and on the cheaper side
Mask Fit: Good!
Tackiness: None
Hydration: Good!
Other notes: N/A
Final verdict: All in all I am happy I got a chance to try these masks out because they were right up there in terms of quality with other sheet mask brands I have tried. Prices aren't the cheapest, but they aren't way up there either so if you are looking for something to get you to free shipping or are just in the H&M store and wanting to pick up a few "stocking stuffer" ideas these sheet masks might be fun to try!
