I have been excited to write about these three Musketeers as I have truly been enjoying this new trio of Teaology serums that launched this past summer! While I share a lot of skincare I use on Instagram stories, I don't often sit down and do full blog reviews of each product mainly due to time, but as I have already finished one of the serums it was evident that these deserved to be in the spotlight! Teaology products are made in Italy and look to nature for their ingredients. What sets their products apart from others in the skincare game is that instead of water, a tea infusions are used! We all know that tea is good for the insides of our bodies, but for our outsides as well as tea contains tannins which are antioxidants that neutralize free radicals. Knowing that either a black, white or blue tea infusion is in each of Teaology's products is pretty cool!
All three serums are meant to be used with each other both morning and night either mixed together or on their own. Each serum is lightweight so you will not feel like you are layering on a ton of skincare and does not pill when foundation is applied on top. I prefer using the Vitamin C just in the mornings and the hyaluronic acid and peptide serum at night.
Made with a 100% blue tea infusion, this Hyaluronic Infusion contains low, medium and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid which I ADORE as it means that HA will be absorbed into as many levels of the stratum corneum as possible. Most hyaluronic acids are high molecular weight which means hydration only happens at the most superficial levels, but smaller molecules mean the deeper layers of the skin get hydration too leading to skin that feels hydrated for a longer time.
This is a fantastic booster for anyone and is great for areas of the face/body experiencing dryness, dehydration or flakiness. I have even tried this is as a lip plumper/primer and it's quite nice! Wrinkly lips no more! All I need is about half a drop to cover my lips and the surrounding area. As a side note, my husband has been experiencing super dry ears so I have just been using one drop for both ears to stop itchiness and flaking. He likes the serum because it absorbs SUPER quickly and doesn't leave a residue.
Peptide Infusion*
Made with a 100% white tea infusion, this multi-peptide dream contains
five different peptides that all work to improve collagen levels, elasticity, firmness and increasing the production of the six main components of the skin matrix (collagen I, III, IV, fibronectin, HA and laminin 5). Peptides are powerful things and to have five of them in a $33 serum is pretty awesome! While I am still not at the stage where I have wrinkles that need plumping, I am using this as a preventative measure before the sagging and the wrinkling are beyond improvement!
Similarly to the Hyaluronic Acid Infusion, the texture of the Peptide Infusion was lightweight and absorbed readily into the skin. I use 3-4 drops prior to using my sheet mask at night and think of it as a "peptide booster" for whatever benefits the sheet mask I am using has to offer. I am in the midst of doing my 365 days of sheet masking challenge so the benefits vary from night to night!
Vitamin C Infusion*
Now, THIS was the serum I drained every last drop of! Made with a 100% black tea infusion, this vitamin C serum uses magnesium ascorbyl phosphate which is a water soluble form of vitamin c that while not quite as potent as pure vitamin C, promotes hydration at a deeper level in the skin. This serum is also non-photosensitizing meaning you don't need to worry about being sensitive to sunlight (still wear your sunscreen obviously!) while using it and promises to soften, brighten and illuminate the skin.
One thing to note is that I was expecting a clear texture like the Hyaluronic Acid Infusion as this is how this serum is depicted on the website as well, but it turned out to be a lightweight cream. It was again very easy to layer with other products and absorbed quickly without any tackiness. I mentioned that I finished this bottle which initially surprised me, but then I saw that there was only 15mL of product whereas most of the serums I use are 30mL which explains how I was able to finish the bottle in less than 2 months. Regardless, it was a lovely serum that I would use again as I did feel like my skin was bright and plump while I was using it!
Final verdict: I really enjoyed all three serums and their ease of introduction into my existing skincare routine and their flexibility in being able to layer. They absorbed quickly, played nicely with makeup and my crazy sheet masking routine! The ingredients were also unique and I love the fact that these are made with 100% tea infusions which I feel really set Teaology apart as a brand. The pricing for the products is fair considering the thought and care that has gone into the products and the packaging.
