SHEET MASK | Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Biodegradable Sheet Masks

I have often expressed a certain level of guilt when it comes to using my beloved sheet masks as there is a lot of waste generated by their use so every time I see a biodegradable sheet mask, I do a little jump for joy! When it came to sheet masks at the drugstore, the Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb masks were among the first to grab my attention as they had a solid assortment of masks for various skin concerns, attractive packaging, reasonable pricing and masks that fit well. These masks have now been reformulated so that they can now be disposed of in your home compost as they are now certified biodegradable! LOVE IT!

There are six sheet masks in the collection and all are vegan in formula with the equivalent of 30mL of serum in each package. The sheet masks are made in Asia and because they are biodegradable, the material feels much different and BETTER than the previous iteration of Moisture Bomb masks as I found the old version of mask material quite thick.

Glow Boosting with Sakura Flower
Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Biodegradable Sheet Masks

This mask was the first one that caught my eye because one, it was pink and I love masks that focus on glow. With a formula of hyaluronic acid and sakura leaf extract, this mask promises hydration, luminosity and a fresher complexion in just 15 minutes! I always leave my masks on for at least 25 minutes because I both lose track of time and feel that a good mask with the proper amount of essence should easily last that amount of time.

Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Biodegradable Sheet Masks

Mask Summary (Sakura):

Price: $3.99 CDN

Skin concerns: Hydration, dryness

Scent: Floral

Essence Type: Clear, slightly viscous

Duration: 20 minutes

Thickness: Thin

Mask Fit: Very good because the mask material was so soft and pliable

Tackiness: Zero

Hydration: Just a little dry feeling around the eyes, but other than that not bad. I just dabbed on a few drops of face oil.

Other notes: Sheet mask was very saturated with essence and felt like it could have been stretched or torn easily so be careful when unfolding!

Anti-Fatigue
Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Biodegradable Sheet Masks

This is a mask that I would like to just have on hand at all times because I often use lavender scented products to help relax at night so this mask was kind of perfect especially when finishing it off with a few drops of Garnier Bio Lavender Face Oil. In terms of results, I felt this mask gave similar results to those of the Sakura mask.

Mattifying with Green Tea
Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Biodegradable Sheet Masks

As this mask said the target skin audience was normal to combination, I did not think I would like this too much, but it turned out to be my favourite of the group! With a blend of hyaluronic acid and green tea, this mask promises to hydrate, balance skin and visibly reduce pores. The latter was especially unappealing to me as I have never believed in the whole concept of "reducing pore size" unless you use salicylic acid to clear out the pore itself. The pore will then "shrink" if it has been stretched with sebum and other gunk, but the amount of shrinkage will really depend on genetics. What I ended up loving was how SOFT my skin felt after using this mask!

Old Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask

New Garnier SkinActive Sheet Mask

I don't know if you are able to see the material difference between the two masks, but the biodegradable masks are thinner and a little bit more translucent. They really contour to the face though and are honestly 10x softer than the old ones.

Final verdict: I love these! Now, if we can just get the foil packaging to be recyclable that would be perfect! The mask material was much more like the luxe Korean masks I have used that hold on to a ton of essence and fit any face shape perfectly. I will definitely be picking up the other three masks I have not tried!
