When probiotics in skincare first came out, it was an exciting time for me as I was really into yogurt and promoting good gut flora in my digestive system and there were some good studies that showed that probiotics in skincare were beneficial to the skin barrier. At the time, Saturday Skin's Cotton Cloud Probiotic Power mask was the only probiotic mask I knew of though even now I don't think this is something many brands do.
Initially when I opened the mask, I was greeted with a very overpowering "industrial" scent which I thought was the mask essence, but upon closer inspection, it was actually the side of the packet with the stickers! I don't know what was happening or maybe having this mask for 2 years did something, but it smelled so chemically I thought something was wrong. The actual mask and essence were much more subtle, but still a bit medicinal.
Mask Summary:
Price: $8 CDN
Skin concerns: Dryness, dullness
Scent: Kind of medicinal, but it was hard to tell as the pocket with the stickers smelled so strongly of chemicals.
Essence Type: Cream
Duration: 25 minutes
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: Good. The eye holes were the type that were a bit stretched out.
Tackiness: Light
Hydration: Good!
Other notes: N/A
Final verdict: This mask was a good one and very attractive when it came to packaging, ingredients and experience. While this was a solid mask in terms of performance, I felt that it wasn't too mind-blowing from a number of other Asian sheet masks I have tried. While the probiotics aspect is interesting, I feel like I can achieve similar results with other masks, but I still encourage anyone to give this sheet mask a try!
