Will this be the week I get back on track with blog posts? Ever since the unpleasant comment at work that bummed me out on Saturday, it made me angry enough to twist the situation around and kick my Type A personality into high gear. I have often struggled with separating work life from personal life and I am still trying to find that balance, but I make exceptions for clients (unless they are complaints LOL). My own clients are always wonderful so I don't mind emailing or texting them on my days off, but other than that, I try to keep my two lives separate. Even though I have been off for two days, I have been making to-do lists and engrossing myself in sales numbers which has been a little bit fun! I feel like whenever you feel trapped in life, making a list of things to do or my current favourite, a spreadsheet, always makes me feel like I have control. Will this last until the end of the year? Who knows, but I need to remind myself to be open to changing things up as many of these lists and strategies involve employees so if something's not working, I need to know how to swallow my pride and try something else! Suffice it to say, my brain might not be here in this space this week while I adjust my bearings!

What makes this mask special? So, I didn't realize until AFTER I was doing my research for this Body Shop mask that this is actually the old Drops of Youth Concentrate Sheet Mask, but has been rebranded and reformulated in a way that I think is much better than the old Drops of Youth mask! This mask contains 2/3 of the Edelweiss Daily Serum in one packet and features leontopodic acid aka edelweiss which is known for its high antioxidant and anti-aging properties (Cho et al, July 2023). This ingredient is found about halfway down the ingredients list which I am not too bothered by as there are yummy ingredients before it that I think make the mask an overall success. Oops, have I jumped to the end??

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Glycerin, Propanediol, Alcohol Denat., Sodium Hyaluronate, Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Fagus Sylvatica Bud Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Adenosine, Leontopodium Alpinum Flower/Leaf Extract (Edelweiss), Parfum/Fragrance, Linalool, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Citronellol, Malva Sylvestris Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Hydrolyzed Rice Protein, Buddleja Officinalis Flower Extract, Benzoic Acid, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Sorbic Acid, Limonene, Leontopodium Alpinum Callus Culture Extract, Xanthan Gum

The fit of this mask feels different than the previous Drops of Youth sheet mask in that it seems wider and has the tabs on the top that always make me think of little bear ears. I think they are there to aid in ease of mask removal, but I really do not think they are all that necessary and kind of just hang there on the sides of my face.

Mask Summary:

What it does: provides smoother looking skin, hydrates and refreshes

Scent: Very pleasant and soft, but it irritated my eyes for a few seconds when I first put the mask on.

Essence Type: Clear, very lightly viscous

Duration: 20 minutes

Thickness: Medium

Mask Fit: The fit was on the wider side with a lot of wrinkles around the bottom half of my face that I had a difficult time smoothing out.

Tackiness: None

Hydration: Not as intense as other masks, but just right if you like layering with moisturizer or oil

Other notes: My skin looked instantly refreshed, even-toned and clear! 

Final verdict: I want like a 10 pack of these! I found this formula MUCH nicer than the original Drops of Youth because when I removed the mask, but skin looked immediately brighter, felt much cooler and truly looked like it had been pulled back from the brink of fatigue! I am also now VERY interested in the Edelweiss serum that is the literal essence of this mask!
