When I initially took photos of the Banobagi Vita Genic Jelly Masks, I thought this was going to be an EPIC review as there were so many different masks all addressing varying skin concerns. As you scroll down, turns out it won't be that epic after all!
On one of my walks to Miniso during my lunch break at work, the Granville location happened to have almost all of the Banobagi Vita Genic masks in stock at what I remember to be a very good price so I grabbed them all with the goal of sharing the results in a blog post. The packaging was VERY cute and attractive and having a literal rainbow of masks to choose from was quite alluring for a sheet mask fanatic like myself (though I have calmed down a bit over the last 2 years).
All of the masks were pretty much the same...I really tried hard to find a difference between each one, but alas they were either so minute that I couldn't catch them or they all just had the same results on my skin.
All of them have no scent and what makes these masks special is the very thick jelly essence. The essence is practically solid and I would advise scooping out a bit first to "prime" the skin and then taking out and applying the sheet mask. While the mask was evenly soaked in essence, essence was lost as I was taking the mask out of the package as it would get stuck on the side of the package.
The jelly essence was extremely hydrating with all seven of the masks I tried and does remain quite tacky for hours before drying down to a light tackiness. I would not advise using this mask just before bed as no one likes sticking to their pillow.
If you are looking for something relaxing, soothing and brightening, these masks definitely take care of that as all of them have a basic formula containing ascorbic acid, niacinamide, niacin and hyaluronic acid to name just a few of the proven effective skincare ingredients. Overall, the ingredients for each mask were quite good, but whether I grabbed the Cica or Pore Tightening mask, I had the same results for each one.
The actual mask itself is made of cotton and is a medium thickness which normally I would not like, but because the essence is so thick, it actually works! The mask fit fairly well with just a bit of it going into my hair as you can see in the photos below.
Final verdict: These were good masks, but next time I won't pay too much attention to what the purpose of each is. I'd probably just pick all Cica or Whitening and then use solely those. I might actually see more of a difference that way with successive use of the same mask over the weeks.
