I say above that these are purchased by me only because at the time, these were the only Youthforia Pregame Primer and Setting Spray in my house, but since that time I have been fortunate enough to receive two more of each product through PR that I have unboxed on Instagram which I could not be happier about as I'm pretty sure I am going to finish both products quite soon!

Makeup you can sleep in, right? These two products were part of the Shark Tank pitch and I picked them up as part of a promotional Shark Tank Bundle as they are pretty pricey on their own, but if you look at the products like dual purpose skincare and makeup, the price is a bit easier to digest. Even as a Canadian paying the 30% exchange rate...though I would still wait to purchase any Youthforia products only when there is a sale to help with the CDN - USD exchange rate.

Pregame Primer

There is so much going on with this primer that I don't even know where to start because it's SO MUCH MORE THAN A PRIMER! Firstly, yes this silicone-free baby holds your makeup in place while diminishing fine lines for smoother application. It has a smooth texture that absorbs extremely quickly into the skin while also giving the skin a slightly radiant, golden finish meaning that this can also be used as a skin tint on its own after applying your SPF.

One thing I should mention is that because there is no added fragrance, what you smell is what you get and this primer smells sort of like cheddar cheese to me? It's not bad, but just different if you weren't expecting it! It goes away instantly so no worries about your skin smelling cheesy! We were having a discussion about this on Youthforia's IG page because we all smelled different things! According to Fiona (the founder of Youthforia), this scent is actually part of Youthforia's proprietary "Skin Chi Complex" and is referred to as "Skin Save" which is intended to reduce redness and even itchiness. The Skin Chi Complex also includes "Blueshield" to protect skin against blue light as well as a sebum control complex to ensure your makeup does not budge.

Like I said, I am almost finished the tube I purchased so I obviously like this product! I have tried it out with different foundations and I have found that my makeup holds up better using this versus nothing at all or a spray primer. As a primer, it also feels much more pleasant on the skin as it does truly feel like skincare. I would say this primer is comparable in keeping makeup in place to Bobbi Brown's Face Base. The only thing I have to be careful of is which sunscreen I use as certain sunscreens plus this primer end up pilling so I have to make sure I use a sunscreen that doesn't leave much of a residue on top of the skin. 

Pregame Setting Spray

This setting spray has no fragrance and is made with a "Slide and Fix Polymer Technology" that creates a thin layer between your makeup and and environmental pollutants to prevent contact. Honestly, this sounds like most setting sprays, BUT I will say that this setting spray does feel like it has a bit of a residual finish to it so that could be that layer settling in. While it feels lightweight on the skin, I do feel like it has a bit of a "grippy" residue that I can feel in my clothing so I tend to cover my jewelry and clothing with a towel when I spray this on my face. 

This is also made with 10% glycerin which acts as a humectant so that moisture is retained further ensuring that makeup doesn't deteriorate over the day because skin is dry. The BEST thing about this setting spray that I think makes it truly unique is that it has a slight radiantly rosy tint so that your skin instantly looks healthier once you spray it on! So, even if you use it as a hydrating mist on bare skin, you can still see an instant boost of healthy glow!

Final verdict: Whenever I wear the full gamut of Youthforia products from primer to foundation to setting spray, I often forget I have anything on because it truly does feel like part of my skin, but then I look in the mirror and I look completely put together so that's how I KNOW that this products are working! They are next to invisible and though I haven't been able to bring myself to use this while sleeping, I don't doubt that they would be completely fine based on their mostly plant-based ingredients. I'm glad I picked up both to try because they are both quite unique as they are truly multi-purpose and I hope you all get a chance to try them too, but like I said, if you are a Canadian, wait until they have a sale!
