Purchased by me
Slowly, but surely I will catch up with my Ipsy bags! I've actually been enjoying using the products right away as there have been some very pleasant discoveries! Let's get into it!
MARC ANTHONY | Grow Long Anti-Frizz Shield Ultimate Blowout
I am very familiar with Marc Anthony as I have used many of the collections over the years having been fortunate enough to receive them in PR, but I have not used this spray! This is a heat-protectant as well as a smoothing spray that activates with heat and forms an "anti-frizz shield" around each hair strand to maintain sleekness for up to 72 hours in up to 80% humidity. Bold claims! It is super lightweight and the instructions encourage "generous use" on sections of towel-dried hair. I will say that after blow-drying, my hair was VERY smooth and straight! The only thing I did not like was the fragrance, but this is something that is quite rampant in all Marc Anthony products. I received a deluxe size worth $3 CDN.
PRADOS | Start with Slay Primer

Prados is a brand I have never heard of so yay for new-to-me brands! Founded by Cece Meadows and based in New Mexico, the products and the packaging look like little pieces of art and though I doubt I will purchase from the website as the exchange rate is terrible right now, I am happy to try a female-owned, indigenous brand!

This primer comes out pretty fast and watery, but it dries down slightly sticky like the Milk Hydro Grip Primer. It is silicone-free and also contains niacinamide, aloe, cica and hyaluronic acid and dries down to a semi-matte finish which is perfect for someone like me who has a 12-14 hour makeup day! I received a deluxe size worth $12 USD.
DEW OF THE GODS | Claydate Rose Hyaluronic Clay Mask

This is the only product I have not tried as I have over the years realized that I am not a clay mask person, but I will say that the name of this product (hehe, "Claydate") makes me smile. This is supposed to be a soothing clay mask that both draws out impurities while leaving skin calm and refreshed.
I have written off products in my Ipsy bag as "aren't going to work for me" only to find them to be amazeballs so when I finally try this, I will update if it turns out to be good! I received a deluxe size worth $8.70 CDN.
FARAH |Gel Eyeliner in Shahi Mochi

The last time I had a Farah product in my Ipsy Bag was back in the October 2024 Bag and it was a face primer. I hadn't heard of the brand at that point and then I heard it about their gel eyeliners through a Tati video last year and thought "Well, one day if they ever show up in Canada" as Tati seemed to really love them!
The day to try them as finally arrived as this deep brown shade has been my eyeliner of choice the last two years! The formula is very creamy and has incredible colour payoff! Love love love! I received the FULL SIZE worth $16 USD.
BEAUTY CREATIONS COSMETICS | Plump & Pout Lip Plumping Booster Gloss in Blaze
Does anybody remember in the late 90s when those syringe ball point pens had us all intrigued as children? That's what this lip gloss reminds me of as you have to click the top of the syringe to dispense the product. I'm not a huge fan of this or the size and feel of the applicator as it feels too small for my lips. The actual gloss is the kind of more burny tingly (as opposed to cooling) and a cute colour so I will continue to use it as I like the sensation of plumping lip glosses. I received the FULL SIZE worth $7 USD.
Final verdict: The total value of the February Ipsy Original Bag was $59.77 factoring in the exchange rate which is actually one of the lower values I have seen, but it didn't really feel like I was getting less. My perceived value of this month's bag felt high because liked 80% of the products so it just goes to show how subjective these can be!
Are we over these surprise beauty bags or do you still enjoy them? I've definitely rediscovered my love for them especially now that I just have the one sub and have curbed a lot of my other beauty spending!
