Years ago, the Montreal-founded brand Attitude made its way into my beauty life via their Superleaves collection and household cleaning products. The products are made Canada, EWG verified, vegan, cruelty-free and strive to reduce waste in their packaging. Last May, Attitude launched their makeup line Oceanly, a line of plastic-free makeup made with 99% ingredients of natural origin including skin-loving ingredients like phytoglycogen and collagen. This collection of products includes everything you will need for a full face of glowy, natural-looking makeup from foundation and concealer to blush and highlighter. All the makeup products are also free of fragrance, carmine, titanium oxide and beeswax. While this isn't something I prioritize too highly in my makeup products, I do value mindful packaging and having no plastic whatsoever is something I find pretty incredible considering how many products there are in this launch!

When it comes to shower time, nothing delights me more in my bath products than ease of use and the least amount of fidgeting to get bottles open. Good Earth Beauty | Chocolate Lip Scrub and Strawberry Lip Balm

I talk about “natural and organic” beauty products a fair amount and although I wouldn’t call myself an eco-blogger, I do have my eyes peeled for stores and products that give me the option to be a little more healthy in my beauty choices. Good Earth Beauty is a family-owned business that prides itself on carrying only natural and/or organic beauty products that are cruelty-free.

Review | SOHO Naturals Powder and Kabuki Brush

I remember first seeing SOHO Beauty brushes in my Ipsy bags and not really thinking too much about them. I hadn’t heard of the brand before and when it comes to brushes, I’m not entirely too picky (even though I think I should be). As long as they don’t shed and pick up the right amount of product I’m pretty happy. What I do have a soft spot for are “healthy” makeup brushes that are cruelty-free and come with bamboo handles and recycled packaging. All three of these qualities are what make SOHO Naturals makeup brushes my current makeup brush favourites.

Beauty Box Weekends #5 | Petit Vour June 2014 “Bon Voyage” Edition

“Bon Voyage” can now mean “goodbye to summer” when it comes to today’s edition of Beauty Box Weekends. It’s still sunny in Vancouver, which is rare, so I am grateful for every day where I can still slather on sunscreen and not whip out an umbrella. Vegan Cuts | May 2014 Beauty Box

Out of all the beauty boxes I have been subscribed to, I really look forward to the vegan ones. I am actually surprised by how many cosmetic companies there are that are actually by definition vegan. I have said before that I would never call myself a vegan or even try to attempt the lifestyle, but if I can use a vegan product and support a vegan company I will. Unfortunately May’s Box was not all that useful to me, but the visual contents is very appealing isn’t it?

Honestly, I could have sworn this was an April Box, but it just goes to show how scatterbrained things have been for the last few months! I have just cancelled by Wantable subscription so I am now down to four consistent beauty subscriptions. I remember when it was something like 8…crazy times. Anyway March’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box held a nail polish brand that I have always wanted to try and in a colour I really like, but let’s have a look at everything else too shall we?

After saying goodbye to Glymm, Glossybox and most recently Seasonsbox, I thought that maybe I could treat myself to one more subscription box. After discovering Petit Vour through My Subscription Addiction (don’t look here EVER if you think you might waver in willpower!) I knew this was the next subscription to try as it is a vegan-friendly beauty box! Now, I am not a vegan, but the idea of having a beauty box with cruelty-free products really intrigued me so I figured for $25/month, I’d give it a try.

You do get 300 PV points for referring friends, but I’ve come not to rely on points anymore as both Glymm and Glossybox screwed subscribers out of their points in the end. I now just focus on the actual products that I receive!
