BEAUTY PANEL | Red Carpet “Naked” Nail Art for Everyday

Incredibly enough, this year’s red carpet manicures weren’t wild or crazy. In fact, they were sophisticated, classic and NAKED. The naked nail look was achieved with polish shades ranging from nude to lilac to barely-there pink. Oddly enough, when it comes to MY everyday life, wearing a classic manicure is not enough so I ended up adding my own red carpet flair to an otherwise basic, yet VERY trendy award season mani! You know I CANNOT leave a plain polish alone!

OPI | My Signature is “DC” from the Coca Cola Collection Taping Nail Art

I am obsessed with this colour. OPI’s My Signature is “DC” is my new favourite silver polish because I feel like I’m painting melted metal right on to my nails! Some silver polishes can be gritty, but this one is juuussssst right! I paired two coats of My Signature is “DC” with OPI – Black Onyx on the other half of the nail and then added gold striping tape down the middle. You can see that maybe that wasn’t the best idea considering how reflective my whole mani became for my camera!

The OPI Coca Cola collection is available now in stores and online and I know there are some other must-haves in this collection that absolutely HAVE TO make it into any polish lover’s collection!

#BusyGirlNails | Week 3: Oxblood

This was by far one of the most complicated tape manicures I have ever attempted as demonstrated by my Instagram post last night! I was using tweezers to apply the striping tape and I almost gave up as it was getting late, but I was so determined to make it work! For this week’s BusyGirlNails mani, the theme is “Oxblood” so chose China Glaze – Velvet Bow, which ended up being too watery and ended up bleeding quite a fair bit…I will have to attempt this with a polish of thicker consistency. My intention was to make my nails look like leaves for Fall, so I hope I managed to get that visual across!

I rarely use striping tape in my nail art, but this mani reminded me of how easy it is use! Learn how to create this mani at The Prom Show!

Metrotown Get Polished Workshop | Geometric Chic

Welcome to the second workshop of Metropolis at Metrotown’s “Get Polished” series happening all of this weekend! This week’s theme is “Geometric Chic” using scotch tape to create some cool and simple designs that will make people stop and stare at your nails! I decided to cut my scotch tape to make an “explosion” using the Metrotown summer colours and I love how they turned out!

Day 12-Pink and Black Tape Manicure

Sorry for the lateness of this mani, I think this is the first one I just couldn’t bring myself to do on time because I’ve been feeling somewhat under the weather. I cheated a little by keeping my pink splatter nails from a few days ago and used striping tape (for the first time ever!) to create my lines. I painted Essence-Black is Back on top and pulled off the tape with tweezers. I just love pink and black and the splatter effect made this manicure ever so slightly more interesting. This challenge is definitely forcing me to try A LOT of new things!
