Caudalie Reviews – Premier Cru Cream and Vinoperfect Enzymatic Peel Mask

Hi Girls!

Lately I've been trying to actively use the samples I've been getting in my sample boxes because I've been finding that I'll be so excited when I get them, but then I continue using my current products and put off using the new stuff. This means that I end up with a giant box of unused samples that I go through monthly when I feel like having a mini Christmas celebration.

So, for the last week I've incorporated two Caudalie products into my daily skincare routine - the Vinoperfect Enzymatic Peel Mask and Premier Cru Cream. Caudalie has always been one of those fancy skincare brands that I find much too expensive to purchase, so seeing them in Glymm boxes was quite a treat even if the samples were quite small. I mean, I think my skin deserves the best, but my wallet doesn't always agree!

I received the Vinoperfect sample in my December Glymm Box and the first thing I was expecting from the mask was that I would experience a tingling because of the word "enzymatic", but this was not the case. The instructions say to leave the mask on for 10 minutes so I thought the tingling would come later, but things were pretty uneventful as I sat there waiting for something to happen. I guess the action is happening on a level that is virtually undetectable! I did like the smell of the mask as it was very refreshing, but other than that, I don't think I'll be running out to buy the full size product ($40) since I didn't find it particularly different from any other mask I've tried.

The Premier Cru face cream was a sample from my very first Glymm box in October and although it was a tiny sample (2mL), it did last me twice a day for three days so I was able to see what it did for my skin. At $150 for the full price, I was really hoping for outstanding results! The first thing I loved about this, was the scent. Kind of sweet, but not in an overpowering way. The cream in itself is quite thick and little really went a much longer way than I thought it would! I actually really liked the face cream. A lot. I'm almost sad to say it because it's so so damn expensive...my skin felt hydrated, smooth and had a more even tone to it. I was VERY surprised. My skin visibly looked brighter and more vibrant soon after application and if it wasn't so pricey, I think I would actually use this on a regular basis. Sigh...oh well I'm glad I got the chance to try this brand and maybe one day I'll treat myself to the full size...

Nerd Lacquer Swatch – ”It’s Just a Flesh Wound”

Hi Everyone!

I guess it's about time I started wearing some of these Nerd Lacquers since I bought 10...this was yet another wonderful polish. I have three thin coats although I could have stopped at two, but kept going because I wanted the black to be bit darker. This is a beautiful black jelly with red and silver glitter. I let the bf pick this one out to wear and he chose well! I've had a lot of compliments on it and was again so impressed with how unique and easy this colour was to work with.

Pssst, my cat wouldn't move out of the way! He kept walking into the shot so that's why the background looks VERY white ;-)

NOTD: Checkerboards!

Hi Everyone!

I thought I'd try something a little different for a manicure and I do like how it turned out! I just picked up this bottle of Sinful Colors "Dream On" and fell in love with how bright and vibrant this magenta was! What also surprised me was that it dried with a matte finish. I was expecting it to be shiny, but not so! I had to take a picture to share :-)

And this is the final product which I finished using a black striper and acrylic paint to paint in the squares. I was painting in the squares with the striper at first, but the nail polish was getting too hard to work with, so I switched to non-toxic acrylic paint midway. It's really so much easier to work with! For next time, I think I should make the squares smaller, but I'm happy with these.

Have You Visited Sampler Village?

 Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday afternoon! Today I wanted to share with you yet another sampler box, seeing as they are all the rage at the moment! This is a sampler box from a service called The Sampler Village founded by Traci Porczynski that provide samples from Etsy sellers and promotes artisans and their craft. I really liked the idea behind this sampler box because I know I'm supporting the little guys you know?

There are three types of boxes available: the Charmingly Samplicious Sampler Box ($25), the Lavishly Samplicious Sampler Box ($40) and the Yummylicious Treats Sampler Box ($40). Unfortunately for us Canadians, only the Charmingly Samplicious Sampler Box is available to us. I think because the other two have food products we are banned :-( Oh well, I'll take what I can get! This isn't a subscription-based service so new boxes are available on the 21st of each month and from what I've seen, sell out within the week! I actually wrote it down in my calendar so I wouldn't forget! Each month also has a theme and new featured villagers so for the month of February, it was "Rainbow Wishes".

These were the items I received that weren't bath-related. A recycled notepad, postcard, print, crocheted flower, scented beads and a cake topper (unexpected!)

These were the soap samples I received. My favourite has to be the "space invaders" soap on the left :-)

DSCF3522
These were the candle and body lotion samples I received. Most of the candles were soy. You can also see that some of the sellers have given promotion codes if you decide to order more of their product.

I received 20 samples for $35 ($10 shipping to Canada) which I think is a little expensive so this definitely won't be a monthly thing for me. Maybe if the theme is something fun and cute...This was something I was just curious about and was also a good way to get introduced to new sellers on Etsy. I'll probably order again in the future since the sellers featured do change monthly. I'll admit that I wasn't absolutely in love with everything I got, but that's all part of the fun and surprise as all of us sample box experts know! As for service, this shipped out the day after I bought the box and took only 7 business days to get to me from Pennsylvania so really quick!

February Luvs

Hihi,

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying your Friday night! My February favourites is a little short this month, even though I've been hauling some pretty good loot, mainly because there were a couple of other products I had that I had rediscovered and wanted to finish.

So, the first product that I rediscovered was Dylan's Candy Bar Candy Butter Cream in the scent Coconut Bon Bon. The main reason I abandoned this body cream to begin with was because it was almost "too moisturizing". I felt sticky after using it because it was just so thick and ended up switching to something lighter. Now for some reason, towards the end of January  I noticed the after showering, the skin on my legs was literally flaking afterwards because they were so dry! I don't know what happened to my skin, but I started having the legs of a reptile!  Anyway, if you're looking for something thick, this is perfect. A little goes a long way and the scent very very yummy. Bonus is that it's paraben-free!

Next is something that I wouldn't say I LOVE, but more like "I like". I mean, it's ok, it does the job, but that's about it. I've been really forcing myself to use it this month because I've never given it a fair shot in the past. Without further ado, this is Skin Food's Honey Black Tea Cleansing Cream which is meant to remove dirt, makeup and other impurities while leaving the skin moisturized. It contains honey, tea and royal jelly extracts to get the job done. For anyone who has never heard of Skin Food it is a South Korean skin care company where all of their products have some sort of food aspect to them like coffee scrubs, rice masks, carrot eye creams...etc. I ordered this online just to try the line and honestly, I didn't really feel like it was any better than anything else I've used...I liked the honey smell and it definitely removed my makeup, but I don't know if I'd get this again. Unfortunately, this is a bit of a miss for me.

Ah, this little gem! This is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi. I love the texture, I love the finish and I love how soft it feels to apply. The coverage is nice and thick without being sticky. It's actually an interesting specimen of lip gloss because its matte texture goes against almost everything you've ever known about regular lip gloss! Suffice it say, I was pleasantly surprised by this product and plan on getting other colours!

Obviously, Prada Candy  had to be on here! I know I only got the full size closer to the end of Februrary, but I was totally crushing on this right up until I got it! I think there are quite a number of girls that absolutely adore this scent so I'm sure you all know what it smells like and how awesome it is!

And that's it! I love reading what people's favourites are so I can't wait to read and hear what yours are!

Crazy Cat Corner

Hellooo!

What better way to start off the month than with a picture of a very sleepy kitty ;-) Yoshi always has to lean his head on something and in this case, the table leg was his pillow. Sorry I woke you up Yoshi!
