Hello Everyone!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday afternoon! Today I wanted to share with you yet another sampler box, seeing as they are all the rage at the moment! This is a sampler box from a service called The Sampler Village founded by Traci Porczynski that provide samples from Etsy sellers and promotes artisans and their craft. I really liked the idea behind this sampler box because I know I'm supporting the little guys you know?
There are three types of boxes available: the Charmingly Samplicious Sampler Box ($25), the Lavishly Samplicious Sampler Box ($40) and the Yummylicious Treats Sampler Box ($40). Unfortunately for us Canadians, only the Charmingly Samplicious Sampler Box is available to us. I think because the other two have food products we are banned :-( Oh well, I'll take what I can get! This isn't a subscription-based service so new boxes are available on the 21st of each month and from what I've seen, sell out within the week! I actually wrote it down in my calendar so I wouldn't forget! Each month also has a theme and new featured villagers so for the month of February, it was "Rainbow Wishes".
These were the items I received that weren't bath-related. A recycled notepad, postcard, print, crocheted flower, scented beads and a cake topper (unexpected!)
These were the soap samples I received. My favourite has to be the "space invaders" soap on the left :-)
These were the candle and body lotion samples I received. Most of the candles were soy. You can also see that some of the sellers have given promotion codes if you decide to order more of their product.
I received 20 samples for $35 ($10 shipping to Canada) which I think is a little expensive so this definitely won't be a monthly thing for me. Maybe if the theme is something fun and cute...This was something I was just curious about and was also a good way to get introduced to new sellers on Etsy. I'll probably order again in the future since the sellers featured do change monthly. I'll admit that I wasn't absolutely in love with everything I got, but that's all part of the fun and surprise as all of us sample box experts know! As for service, this shipped out the day after I bought the box and took only 7 business days to get to me from Pennsylvania so really quick!

Thanks for the review and heads up about a new box! I think that you got some fantastic items in there! Especially the soap and the candles.
ReplyDeleteI do love using soap and candles so this box was a lot of fun for me! Let me know if you ever try it!
Deletegreat box and you got lots of interesting things x
ReplyDeleteI agree, it was a good variety!
DeleteThis is really cool - I've never heard of it before. I love how there's a variety of quirky samples, and how etsy is doing the sample box thing. Wish the shipping was included but still that's a great cost to sample ratio (what do you think the total cost of the items would be if they didn't come in a sampler box)?
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, if I didn't include this shipping then I'd say that in terms of samples, I can't see each item being more than $2, with the exception of the Space Invader soap. The shipping alone from each of these sellers was probably more than $10 so having it all bundled together probably did save me a few dollars. I'd say I probably have about $25 worth of samples in here.
DeleteGreat to find out about a new box I didn't know about. Definitely going to look into it
ReplyDeleteOmigoodness, the number of these sample boxes that are cropping up! I can never keep up!
DeleteSaw them on you tube & it is not my thing but if you like them there is a Canadian version. http://www.sweetdelight.ca/calendar.html
ReplyDeleteI've heard about this site as well! It sold out the last time I could order so I'm hoping I can order this month!
DeleteI love sampler village box's :)
ReplyDeleteI see you are part of the Sampler Village!
