Day 14–Just Some Regular Joe Flowers

For today’s design, I used this tutorial from Chalkboard Nails but skipped a few steps because it was so late and I was too sleepy. I was also a little scared as I was watching continuous episodes of “Walking Dead” and wanted to go to sleep quickly. I’m such a chicken! I’ve never done a flower print before so again I can think the 31 Day Challenge for allowing me to try new things!

I started off with Zoya – Shay as a base and then used OPI – You’re a Pisa Work for the flowers and then OPI – Black Onyx for the centers. The leaves were done with green acrylic paint. They’re actually kind of fun! I feel like I’m wearing curtains on my nails!

  1. haha jayne - how far are you in Walking Dead??
i am actually in the middle of a zombie book right now - first time READING about them rather than watching them/killing them in video games and it still freaks me out! haha
i guess it's my fantastic imagination and the fact that i cant read through the scary parts fast enough. :)

    1. Helen, I am ALSO reading a zombie book and it's scaring me!! I can't read it while I'm on my lunch at work because I get nauseated! After playing Resident Evil, I can't play zombie games. I start screaming!

    2. I've only just started Walking Dead and I'm only on Season 1, Episode 3...looks good though!

    3. oo what zombie book are you reading? haha and resident evil is so awesome! i love shooting zombies - usually with shotguns so they get blown further back even if you are not an accurate shooter. haha yes im excited for the 6th one to come out!
and i really liked season 1 of walking dead! plenty of zombies in that season haha

    4. The book is soo cheesy! It's called "Dust" and it's from the point of view of a Jessie, who is a zombie girl. Hahaha, I want YOU on my side when zombies take over! You can have the shotguns and I will cower and hide!

    5. hahahaha the book sounds interesting though! i haven't heard of that concept. and LOL i'm not as good as you think. i've actually shot a couple rounds off a real shotgun before and missed every single target. but they were flying discs so as long as zombies can't fly, maybe i'll be better??
on a similar note, have you seen the latest Resident Evil movie?

(i also love how your nail post is becoming a huge zombie discussion)

    6. I haven't seen it yet, but I've seen all of the others. As scared as I am of zombies, I am utterly fascinated with the Umbrella Corporation. When the first one came out, I had chills.

Were you skeet shooting? Thank GOD zombies can't fly! Flying dead corpses...I would never leave my house.

    7. i really enjoy the movie series - i liked the most recent one better than "Afterlife".
and yes skeet shooting - that's the term i was looking for!
but flying zombies - very possible (well, i think so anyway) if birds (crows) start eating them... and then what about zombie mosquitoes?! hahaha can you tell i've thought about this before :P

  4. Who doesn't want to walk around with retro curtains on their finger tips? So cute, Jayne!
I used to be so tough with scary shows/movies. My brother and I would have marathons.. then I started living on my own. And now I'm a big wuss. Criminal Minds gives me nightmares! Lol.

    1. LOL, thank you! I haven't watched Criminal Minds yet...I'd probably be scared too! I think I've gotten more scared of things as I've gotten older...and yet I still like putting myself through it!

    1. They didn't too long, probably about 30min for both hands? What's fun about this manicure is that the flowers can be random shaped blobs and they don't have to be perfect to look good!
