Time must be flying by because it feels like I just shared with you all what was in my last Topbox! I think we were pretty spoiled with last month’s Topbox, but this month’s box had some great products in it as well, one in particular that I was quite excited about!
Benefit They’re Real! Mascara
This long wearing, jet black, gloss formula reveals lashes you never knew you had.
Thoughts: If I see Benefit anything, I am a happy camper. I already have a full size of this that I am still working on, but I guess it’s always nice to have a backup/travel version. I don’t use this mascara everyday because I feel like my lashes are out of control when I use it. Although my baby Asian lashes probably look like “normal” lashes when I do and I’m just not used to it!

L’Essence by Balenciaga Paris
It is a sequel and a new beginning. A leathery violet fragrance, a new contemporary elegance.
Thoughts: I’m sorry, I don’t really like the smell of this…it’s so overwhelming. I definitely smell the “leather” in this fragrance. The sample size is great though so it’s just unfortunate that this isn’t my kind of scent.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple One Step Facial Cleanser
Formulated to gently cleanse, tone and melt away all face and eye makeup in one simple step.
Thoughts: I have never tried anything Philosophy before, can you believe it? Every since I saw Hope in Jar on Oprah’s favourite things years ago, I just always believed it was one of those brands I could never afford. It says it’s a 3 in 1 cleanser for face and eyes? I guess it must be pretty gentle then. Another great sample size.

M.Asam Perfect Teint
This primer immediately smoothes the appearance of lines, pores and imperfections for a flawless finish.
Thoughts: I have received a sample of this before in a previous Glymm box and found it to be quite greasy even for my drier skin. This might be ok when the weather gets a bit drier so I will see how this primer fares on my skin then.

My favourite item is the Benefit mascara as I’m sure it was for most people who received this box. I’m also pretty excited to to try the Philosophy cleanser! I loved the variety of products I received and as usual have yet to be let down by a Topbox!

ReplyDeleteI gave my younger sister the Purity Cleanser for christmas and she isn't hooked on it. I tried it out but found it smelled really harsh (sort of chemical-y) :/
Philosophy christmas gifts sets (gingerbread men, marshmallows for roasting) are great if you want to try out more products from the brand!

I've heard mixed reviews about the cleanser, so I guess we will see how it works out for me. I keep seeing their wonderful Xmas sets, but have yet to actually buy one! Thanks for the recommendations!

DeleteI LOVE the mascara! Looooove it, it actually makes my lashes look a bit fuller. The perfume was repulsive lol, it's too bad because it's a really good size! And the Purity cleanser.. eh. But you might like it, depends on what kind of cleansers you like.. the smell kind of puts me off, though. And there's my topbox review in 5 whole sentences. haha.
ReplyDeleteThe mascara is awesome! I love it too! I am also sad about the perfume :( Such a great size, but I guess it can be hit or miss with perfume scents. I've heard that people didn't like the smell of the cleanser too, so we'll see if I can handle it. I love your succinct review! If I did that, my blog posts wouldn't be so wordy! I try to shut up, but sometimes I just can't stop!

ReplyDeleteThe perfume is pretty awful :( I have like 10 mascaras that I'm using and since I only use one or two coats a day, it's taking so long to go through them! I'm sending the man to get my little Balenciaga bag ;-)
