NAILS | Hello Spring Gradient! #ManiMonday

It is SO CLOSE to Spring officially making its way into our lives and yet most of Canada is still freezing. Vancouver has had snow in March and then the other day my windshield wiper broke off in the rain as it had been frozen before. Thankfully it was on the passenger side, but the blade flew off while I was on the highway and into the car beside me. I was so embarrassed!

Nothing signals the beginning of Spring like new colour cosmetics and Mary Kay Light, Reinvented collection is one of real beauty consisting of new spring-inspired lip oils, eyeshadow palettes and of course nail polishes!

Out of the four new nail polish shades, I am wearing three of them - New Blue*, Luminous Mauve* and Brilliant Violet* ($10 CDN each) because they were all so beautiful that I couldn't make up my mind as to which polish to wear first! This is the beauty of the sponge gradient because you can honestly wear ALL THE COLOURS!

I started off with two coats of New Blue and then "striped" a wedged makeup sponge with New Blue, Luminous Mauve and Brilliant Violet (in that order). Dab off the excess polish once or twice on a silicone mat or piece of paper so that your gradient looks crisp and not gloopy and sponge in an up-down motion. Blend all three colours with a glitter top coat like China Glaze Fairy Dust (my FAVE) and add multi-coloured gems if you so desire. I'm using 2mm ones from Born Pretty. Seal it all in with clear top coat and you're done!
