It is officially Spring today and what better way to start than with some flower nail art! Avon had sent me this cute Pretty Floral Stripe Watch* ($29.99 CDN) and the moment I saw it, I wanted to have my nails match it! The watch itself is super cute and fun with a silicone strap. I can totally see this being a fun accessory to pull together an outfit.
To start, I painted my nails three coats of Essence Wild White Ways* and let them dry completely before adding my striping tape. I had just picked up 2mm striping tape from Born Pretty as opposed to my usual 1mm and thought the larger stripes would work better for this design. Once I positioned my striping tape, I painted one thick coat of Essence Black is Back* over top and then immediately peeled off the striping tape.
I then used a dotting tool to make little flowers using Essence Va Va Voom* and Essence Indian Summer* and a fine brush to create the leaves with Essence Play with My Mint* (I find this polish name so sexual...). Wait as long as you can to top coat because taping and dotting can result in smearing a lot of the time because of the concentrated amounts of polish!
