This post is embarrassingly late as the event happened near the beginning of November, but I’ve been wanting to vary the types of posts I have and not post too many hauls since hauls don’t provide any sort of useful information other than, “Look what I got!!”
L’Occitane VIP Night was probably one of the few VIP nights that I’ve gone to in a mall where there was restricted access to those invited during mall hours. On this night, everything in the store was 20% off which pretty much never happens! There were red velvet macaroons, champagne and hors d’oeuvres to complete the shopping experience. Although, it was hard to hold a glass, food AND product!
Almond Shower Oil Eco-Refill ($34)
I’m running out of my beloved almond shower oil so it’s nice that I can get refills for the bottle! The regular size shower oil retails at $24 for 250mL, so you save $14 by buying the refill.
Limited Edition Holiday Hand Cream Trio ($32)
This trio includes the scents: Magical Leaves, Marvellous Flowers and of course L’Occitane’s famous Shea Butter Hand Cream! I actually really liked the two limited edition scents but of course, they’re not sold separately!
Magical Leaves Exfoliating Shower Gel ($22)
Contains crushed hazelnut and is perfumed with verbena. It smells fantastic and of course the fact that there was “Limited Edition” all over it didn’t help in me avoiding this purchase!
Shea Ultra Rich Face Scrub ($35)
This is a very gently exfoliator for dry to very dry skin. I tried a sample of this awhile back and enjoyed both the scent and especially the texture. It’s gentle enough to use every other day without irritation. This scrub is is 10% shea butter so it’s very moisturizing and smells rich and creamy.
No VIP night is complete without a goody bag! Now, you did have to purchase something to get the goody bag which in my mind makes sense, but there were a couple of people who walked into the store and just asked for the goody bag and wanted to leave right away…I think that’s kind of cheap…

I had a great time and I honestly didn’t think I would love L’Occitane as much as I do now. I must be getting old because I used to think it was an “older person” store. Now, I can’t get enough of their stuff!

I really need to try this line out. I got a sample of the hand creme. I think that is really cheap to just walk in and ask for the bag but sadly people are like that.

Deletei keep wanting to try this brand but i always forget/procrastinate. maybe i should set a 10 brands i want to try in 2013 goal!! the almond shower oil in particular looks amazing. i also love hand creams so those would definitely be on my list to try.

ReplyDeleteOh and as far as cheapskates... one of my tenants attended a jewelry party hosted by one of my other tenants grand-daughter. All she did was come down to get free food, sat at a table, went back two more times. Didn't even look at that jewelry...and THEN had the nerve to win the silent auction prize!!! WTH? I'd be mortified to be that classless!

Murale carries L'Occitane which is like an upscale Shoppers. They carry some VERY high end lines AND you get Shoppers points on your purchases which is amazing. You can shop online too if there isn't a location near you. I think there are only three in Canada!

Teenager I can understand, but these were older VERY well-dressed people. It was just kind of inappropriate because they were told in front of everyone shopping that they needed to buy something...
