December 2012 Glossybox

Well, what do you know? My December Glossybox actually made it to me yesterday and we are still in December! I know some girls haven’t received their boxes yet so I consider myself fortunate. I LOVED this month’s box. Mostly drugstore items, but again all items I would use. This month’s box is a collaboration with LouLou and came packaged in a silver, instead of the usual matte pink box. I had not seen any previews for the December Glossybox so opening it was truly a surprise!

Tresemme Fresh Start Volumizing Dry ShampooDSCF4291

Thoughts: I use dry shampoo all the time (I have 10 in my bathroom now!) and I have yet to try any from Tresemme so receiving this deluxe sample was awesome!

Full size: 161g/$5.99

I received: 56g/$2.10

Aveeno Ultra Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 30DSCF4293

Thoughts: My skin has been red in certain areas so I have actually been using a face mask at night that calms redness. This moisturizer couldn’t have come at a better time!

Full size: 73mL/$22.99

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Aveeno Positively Ageless Tinted MoisturizerDSCF4294

Thoughts: I found it weird to have TWO moisturizers in one beauty box, but I guess because this is tinted, it can be viewed as sort of makeup item for very light coverage. I generally don’t wear a lot of foundation so this is another product that I would use.

Full size: 50mL/$25.99

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Avon Glazewear Intense Lipgloss in SundanceDSCF4295

Thoughts: Oooh, I love receiving products from Avon because it’s not something that I can easily get other than through a rep or online. This looks like a great colour!

*EDIT* Apparently this is a discontinued product and is at least 5 years old! Glossybox has yet to address this officially and have been “looking into it”. I’m glad I haven’t used it yet…

Full size: 6mL/$7.99

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Revlon Nail Enamel in a “Touch of Mauve”DSCF4296

Thoughts: This is really not my colour…is it just me, or is it just too darn neutral? I don’t really have a colour like this so it’s not like it’s a dupe of something I have, but I just don’t know if I would wear this very much.

*EDIT* Apparently this is also a discontinued product, but when it comes to nail polish, I dare someone to find me a bacterium that can actually survive in nail lacquer…I don’t really mind as much that this is discontinued as I do the Avon product.

Full size: 15mL/$5.99

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Glossybox LashesDSCF4297

Thoughts: These lashes look VERY full and look like a lot of fun to wear! Goodbye little Asian lashes!

Full size: $12.50/pair

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Tresemme Split Remedy SachetDSCF4298

Thoughts: Sure, I’m all up for reducing the number of split ends I have!

Full size: 700mL/$5.99 (for each of the shampoo and conditioner?)

I received: 9mL/$0.08 X 2

Nobia EarringsDSCF4299

DSCF4288

Total Value of Glossybox: $77.72

The earrings were a nice bonus and are quite cute. I don’t really wear a lot of costume jewellery, so I might gift them to someone else, but they are a pretty colour and beautiful stud earring for everyday. The Aveeno products are pretty pricey and are on the upper end of the drugstore products, so I was happy to receive them. I can see how some people wouldn’t as some would have preferred makeup items over moisturizers, but I am very happy with what I received and look forward to having better looking hair, less redness on my face and amazing lashes for the new year!

  1. Pretty good box! I use some products by Aveeno regularly from both the positively ageless and ultra calming line (neither of the specific ones you got though) and I really like them. I was thinking yesterday and figured out that Glossybox has sent out some ofhe most useful samples of all the beauty boxes for me. Sometimes it's less exciting than others but it's stuff I didn't know about at I really would use regularly and it's in a decent price range and easy to come by.

    Thanks for sharing the contents!

    1. Sometimes, I am torn between receiving products that I know I would use, but aren't considered luxe OR just receiving luxe products because I know would never buy it at full price on my own. Overall, I was pleased with what I received in December's Glossybox and I'll continue to sub for a little while more.

  2. This looks like a fantastic box! Makes me a bit sad to have cancelled my GlossyBox subscription..but the stuff just kept piling up! It's interesting that GlossyBox is really starting to produce their own line of beauty products as well.

    1. It IS piling up! I am trying to hard just to stick to what I have and not buy anymore products on my own as we are getting so many samples, but at the same time, I LOVE having all this product at my fingertips :)

  3. What a great box!!! I <3 dry shampoo. Aveeno makes some really nice products, so that is awesome that you got full sizes to try. :D I think that nail polish is very lovely, but as you said it is more office appropriate that exciting. I am glad that you were able to get this box before January!

    1. I've used Aveen moisturizer before and it's really quite nice! Very gentle, non-irritating, no strong scent. It's just not quite enough for me in the winter.

  8. I really like Aveeno products! I am picking my box up tomorrow now LOL I was going to wait until after New Years but I will drive downtown to my office and go get it! The last Avon/Mark lipgloss we got I ended up really liking and found a rep in my office building to order another one from :)

  11. Glossybox is claiming the products are not old and trying to fool people.
Not even offering a replacement of anything...
