BEAUTY | May 2025 Ipsy Glam Bag

 May 2025 Ipsy Glam Bag

Purchased by me

I know, I know. I really should stop this subscription, but I do love the surprise of the products and so far, I have been enjoying most of the products in my Ipsy bags. I do every other month now just to slow down the influx of products as well as save a little bit of money. I am about to catch up though with my Ipsy bag reviews as I would like to keep all the 2025 Glam Bag reviews actually WITHIN the year 2025! Firstly, I will start off by saying that I enjoyed the design of May's bag as this blue and white canvas print really makes me feel like it's summer (which I now know is technically over).

I remember discovering the brand Purlisse around the time of the Ipsy subscription bags (which I can't believe are still around and apparently more popular than ever!). Purlisse was one of the first brands I discovered that had a blend of Asian and Western skincare philosophies and was created by Chinese-American Jennifer Yen. Being a Chinese immigrant myself, I identified with the brand on a cultural level and fell in love with their Blue Lotus Moisturizer with SPF 30 years ago and ended up going through two bottles. I never picked it up again because I can only find it through the Purlisse website which, when things are in USD, makes it less appealing as the last bottle I got was from Cosmoprof in Vegas.

EXPERIENCE | Jayne Goes to Cosmoprof North America in Las Vegas! (DAY 1)

Three weeks ago my husband and I attended Cosmoprof North America, one of the largest trade shows for all things beauty from July 9-11th. Can you guess who was just dying with excitement at the prospect of visiting over 1000 vendors?! This event is not open to the public and is mainly for business owners/brands, but this year, there was quite a bit of focus on social media and influencers with a number of American bloggers and Youtubers acting as trend scouts for innovative and cool beauty products at the show. I was really excited to have gotten a press pass for the show and I would go back next year in a heart beat now that I know what to expect!

Ipsy | May 2014 “Fresh Picks” Glam Bag

It’s the weekend which means beauty box catch up time! Ipsy is the ONLY monthly beauty subscription that I have decided to keep because I felt that at the price of $14.95 with shipping, the value and excitement level of the products were worth hanging on to. May’s box was getting us all ready for summer which is now sadly almost over, but thankfully most of the products in this month’s bag can still be used year round.

Topbox | April 2014

Wasn’t too much going on with April’s Topbox, but at least the background I photographed on was a little bit more exciting than what was going on inside the box…

January 2013 Beauty Box 5

January’s BB5 contained a surprise favourite that differed from box to box so I was quite excited to find out what I would receive. There were some great products in this month’s box so BB5 continues to impress!
