My nails have been a little burnt out from the non-stop manicures (thank God for peel-off base coat!) and with hosting a family dinner at our place last night, I decided to forego the complicated 3 hour nail art session and instead veg and find a unique glitter polish in my collection that I had yet to try. I have WAY too many untrieds and found an old Beyond the Nail indie glitter called "Vintage Dress" that had shimmery yellow flower-shaped glitter sitting in a clear base that felt like the way to go. I also managed to find the PERFECT matching yellow polish which literally looks like sunshine in a bottle in the form of CND Creative Play - Foilded Again*.
This was all about making sure "Vintage Dress" stood out so after painting two coats of "Foilded Again" on my pinky and index fingers, I painted three coats of MAC - Good Old Days from the Charlotte Olympia collection. This was a fairly sheer creme, but what I liked about it was that it wasn't blaringly white. It had kind of a vintage feel to it which matched "Vintage Dress" perfectly!
I am wearing two coats of "Vintage Dress", but I did have to go glitter-fishing for the flowers and hearts and position them in an esthetically-pleasing way. This was one of BTN's earlier glitters, but is still one of the more unique ones in my collection with it's pink, blue and silver hex and square glitter mixed with shards of bright yellow glitter.
You may need two coats depending on the thickness of your top coat to give this glitter a smooth finish and then you're done!
Unfortunately, Vintage Dress has been discontinued, but there are a whackload of other BTN glitters to choose from! CND Creative Play is located at select salons and Nail Polish Canada.
