I started watching the show Bridgerton for the FIRST time while I was on staycation a few weeks ago and I am HOOKED! I was so invested in Simon and Daphne that I thought I couldn't let them go for Season 2, but Anthony and Kate are now my FAVOURITE! I am almost done Season 3, but I have been resisting watching the last two episodes because I don't want it to be over! I even watched Queen Charlotte which was so sad, but sweet. Suffice it to say, I get the hype and now I want more!

Green is one of my favourite nail polish colours which is why I am always so happy when March comes around for CBBxManiMonday as we usually do either Green/Spring themes and today I have kind of combined the two with this green flower manicure!

NAILS | Year of the Tiger #CBBxManiMonday

T'is the Year of the Tiger! I am a little jealous that I am not born in this year because who wouldn't love a tiger?! I am a "water pig" and I guess there is something cute about a pig as well. Today's nails were inspired by this post by @princessscottage and it has been awhile since I have painted something quite this detailed and so late at night so Mr. Tiger looks a little loopy!

NAILS | Clashing Colours #CBBxManiMonday

This month's #CBBxManiMonday theme is "Colour Combinations" which is a pretty open-ended so I took that as an opportunity to keep with my bright summer colours and go with two shades that kind of clash, but also seem to work at the same time -  pink and fuchsia!

NAILS | Daisy, Daisy, Daisy #CBBxManiMonday

I took a few days off this week to essentially clean up the apartment and get my home life back and track. As I mentioned before, when work life is productive, I never seem to have the energy for home life, but I was thinking to myself this morning that if I didn't blog my days off would be more free to do the housework that I don't seem to have time to do more regularly. Without blogging though, I would be a most unhappy individual and the overall joy I feel from being surrounded by beauty products is well worth it so as I write this, I am soaking some long overdue hand-washing (I despise hand-washing dresses and sweaters) and finally ticking my first house-related chore off the list! When people ask me how I have time to do my nails even just once a week (I can't believe I used to paint them 2-3x before!), I legit have to make time...like at 12am sometimes which is what happened with these nails because my husband and I ended up watching the movie "Booksmart" last night (it was ok).

NAILS | Sketch Flowers #CBBxManiMonday

I will make this short and sweet as I pulled a longer day at work and got home much later than I had anticipated, ate dinner at 9pm and then showered at 11pm. All in all, I should be sleeping now! This month, the CBB ManiMonday crew and I are dedicated to bringing you the best in flower power so I am starting off the month with some rather messy, sketch flowers which look pretty awful from far away, but less of a trainwreck up close!

NAILS | Hello Spring! #ManiMonday

I loved the shades in last week's manicure so much that I knew I had to use CND's new Chic Shock collection in today's ManiMonday! CND also has a new Nudes collection and while browsing Instagram for some nailspiration, I came across a manicure by @lacqueredlady using CND polishes oddly enough, but more importantly had a really great take on a flowered dotticure.

I know I have done a fair number of flower manicures this summer, but it's sort of my cheat way of using multiple colours when I can't decide on just one or two shades which happens more often than you would think! Oftentimes, I just have handfuls of polish and I sit there and wish I had more fingers to wear them on!

Today's Mani Monday is with some new Avon Gel Finish polishes for Fall, but since I'm not ready to call it quits yet on summer, dotticure flowers with Fall colours seemed a fair compromise.

NAILS | Negative Space Flowers #ManiMonday

Negative space manicures have been my go-to the last two weeks because just the simple absence of polish can turn a regular old swatch into a sought-after minimalist nail art. I was feeling the urge to do more negative space, when the thought of flowers also permeated my brain. Next, came the Pinterest surfing where I happened upon this gorgeous manicure done by nail art goddess So Nailicious. Everything about this woman's perfect hand position and manicures always has me in awe! I still like her manicure better, but my flowers still looked decently springy by the end of it!

NAILS | Flowers with a Sprinkle of Glitter #ManiMonday

It is good to be back home in Vancouver where it actually felt like Spring this past weekend! My husband and I were visiting family in Montreal and we got back very late Friday night. We decided to take transit back home to save money on a $60 cab ride only to find ourselves on the seabus with everyone who went to the Canucks game. While I am fine on a plane now, the moment I step off, I feel like total crap. I feel bloated, tired and just disgusting and though we tried to call a cab, none showed because it was freakin' Friday night. I won't lie, I may have cried on the way home because I had the stomach flu and was amazed I even survived the flight without getting sick (thanks to some serious medication and Gravol). I am still feeling a little off, but I am back to work today and hoping that it's only going to get better from here!

I am starting this month's series of Mani Mondays with a truly Spring-like manicure featuring the new CND Creative Play Playland Collection! If this collection doesn't snap you out of that winter funk, I don't know what will because it's got brights, neons and glitters!

NAILS | It's "Time" for Flowers

It is officially Spring today and what better way to start than with some flower nail art! Avon had sent me this cute Pretty Floral Stripe Watch* ($29.99 CDN) and the moment I saw it, I wanted to have my nails match it! The watch itself is super cute and fun with a silicone strap. I can totally see this being a fun accessory to pull together an outfit.

NAILS | Marimekko-Inspired Blue Flowers #ManiMonday

Last weekend, I attended a "camping wedding" in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island and wore a white dress with blue swirly flowers on it. The dress was a bit short and it seems that my blood has become yummy for mosquitoes in my 30s so my legs and have been recovering from the many MANY mosquito bites that happened. On the plus side, I did manage to do my nails to match my dress (for those who caught a little sneak peak on my Twitter account last week)! I have been wanting to a Marimekko-inspired design ever since one my friends commented that my Remembrance Day nails (here) looked a lot like them. All of this was created using a large dotting tool so there wasn't too much to it!

NAILS | Essie Bikini So Teeny Dried Flower Spring Nail Art #essienailedit

I know the blog these last two weeks have been filled with nail posts, but my face has been needing a bit of a break from makeup and I've been really feelin' the nails! Today I have an Essie nail polish classic to share - Bikini So Teeny*, a light cornflower blue with a hint of shimmer throughout. Why I haven't purchased this shade is beyond me, but the nail polish universe must have been thinking of me when Influenster sent me this shade in my Essie VoxBox!

NAIL ART | Psychedelic Spring Flowers with Wet n Wild Wildshine Nail Polishes

We are officially in the throes of Spring here in Vancouver and although I still feel the urge to wear a fuzzy sweater, I can now forego the winter coat and pair off an outfit with ballet flats instead of boots. After my recent discovery of Wet n Wild Wildshine polishes (here), I thought it might be appropriate to pay them a proper tribute and use them as many as I could in one manicure. Flowers are pretty much the gateway drug into nail art for the season. From here, it’s Easter, cherry blossoms, watercolour and of course MORE FLOWERS!

Spring Flowers Wet n Wild Review Swatches
I started off with 2 coats of Putting on Airs*, an opaque baby blue, and then created flowers randomly on my nails using a dotting tool and the shades Tickled Pink* and Who Is Ultraviolet?* While the polish is still fairly wet, center some gold nail art studs for your flower centers or pistils, for you plant biologists. I used two different sizes of studs since the small ones looked silly with the larger flowers. Then, topcoat your design!

Edit: If you plan on applying the smaller nail art studs close to the edge of your nails, be careful when eating…or you might  inadvertently ingest one…ahem…as was the case yesterday for me.
