I feel like it has been a long time since I have played with makeup properly and though the Shu Uemura Ambush Collection was a summer release, I still find myself using the Rouge Unlimited lipstick shades because they are all quite easy to wear - even the matte orange!
The Rouge Unlimited lipsticks come in a few finishes with the Ambush collection featuring a Sheer Shine and Supreme Matte formulas housed in some seriously nice gold packaging. Let's just say that I never have a hard time finding these in my makeup bag!
The Sheer Shine finish is indeed very shiny and glossy with a brief wear time of around 2 hours. My favourite Sheer Shine shade is Ambush Freedom*, but Ambush Spirit* has now become easier to wear with my lighter hair colour. It's still quite Barbie-looking, but seems a bit more palatable now.

The Supreme Matte finishes of Ambush Life* and Ambush Love* are soft in texture and feel almost cushion-like. They are incredibly comfortable to wear and very forgiving if you have dry patches on your lips. The formula almost seems to fill in lines and leaves my lips feeling light and airy. I enjoy wearing both of these shades even though they look terrifyingly bright!

Final verdict: Though this is limited edition packaging, the Rouge Unlimited Sheer Shine and Supreme Matte formulas are not and there are quite a number of reds, pinks, neutrals and oranges in the regular line up that are close to the Ambush shades. I love Shu lipsticks so there really isn't much else to say other than the packaging is just the right amount of luxury for the price and that these guys are on sale online right now so now is your chance!
