Ooh, it has been ages since I have reviewed a hair tool! I got my first flat iron in my first year of university back in 2001 and I remember being so amazed that there was something out there that was able to tame my coarse, frizzy hair. I don't know why my high school self never thought to look for a solution, but maybe it was because I felt embarrassed asking my parents for money to buy one. Once I started working, my relationship with flat irons began and after going through a number of relatively inexpensive ones (under $100), I started looking at salon-worthy ones since I was using a flat iron a couple of times a week. While the final result of most flat irons look relatively similar, there are small details during the actual ironing process that can make the styling experience much more efficient and pleasant with my number one issue being TIME. The design of the iron is super sleek with its metallic red body and tapered plates. The tapered plates make straightening extra precise, especially for shorter hair, as they allow you to get close to the scalp without burning yourself. The sides of the plates are also rounded which means that flat iron curls are also quite nice to do although I find the width of the plates just a hair too thin for my liking for curls.
DIGITAL DISPLAY. This is the first flat iron I have owned that had this and I love it! There is something satisfying about knowing EXACTLY what temperature your flat iron is at instead of with a range of numbers from 1-20. Then again, I always crank it up to the hottest setting which is usually 450°F.
Doing one side of my hair took 2 minutes...that's pretty fast right? I usually wear my hair curled so keep on reading to find out how flat iron curls turned out with this flat iron!

Final verdict: This was a nice flat iron and as a flat iron it was actually really good with the tapered plates making the straightening process extra quick. It didn't leave my hair quite as soft as other flat irons I have used, but I did like the tapered plates and the digital read out. Even though I wasn't the biggest fan of this for making curls, I liked that the tips of the plates didn't get super hot as sometimes my GHD flat iron gets hard to hold once the iron heats up. This is not an inexpensive flat iron and at a price point of $129 the quality was definitely better than the $50 ones I used in my youth, but having used other flat irons in this price range already I cannot say that this one is better than what I have used. It DOES equal them though so the quality is good and I do not think anyone who purchases this flat iron would be disappointed with the quality and results.
