I try hard not to do too many vampy looking manicures during the Fall season and I was grateful for October to kind of break up the monotony and give a bit of colour to the manicures I had planned, but that's not to say that I don't appreciate a good set of Fall purples like these limited edition lacquers from the Mary Kay Fall makeup collection!
This season's shades include: Pink Escape*, a pale pink creme, Rose Blush*, a moody mauve and Violet Silk*, a dark wine cream. In addition to being PERFECT for a sponge gradient, these three shades compliment each other just perfectly and like all of Mary Kay's other polishes have nicely opaque formulas. Pink Escape was a bit streaky so I needed three coats to even everything out, but this is not unheard of when it comes to pastel polishes.
The design for these nails was pretty simple. I started with three coats of Pink Escape, followed by drawing a half moon shape with Rose Blush. I needed two coats of this polish for full opacity. Finish with two coats of Violet Silk in another half moon shape (and make sure to cap the free edge as I forgot). I like studs so I added in some silver ball studs from Born Pretty to the center two nails and top coated with Cutex Quick Dry Top Coat*.
These Mary Kay nail polishes are available now through your Mary Kay Beauty Consultant.
