SKINCARE | Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream #EarthMonth

It's April which means more of a focus on Earth-friendly and clean beauty products! You will have to forgive the order of my skincare reviews as you all know that I take a loooong time to review things, but starting with what I started using over the Winter season, I reviewed quite a number of different things some of which I featured over on Instagram stories. I don't often care much about moisturizers because my skincare focus tends to be more on serums and treatments with moisturizers acting more like a "cap" for my illustrious routine, but I wanted to give a big, beefy blog shoutout to the Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream!

It's hard to believe that almost a year ago, I attended a dinner with Dr. Hauschka celebrating their iconic Rose Day Cream. If you haven't tried or heard of Dr. Hauschka and would like to look into adding more products with organic ingredients, this is a brand that has been doing it long before Sephora told us all that Clean Beauty was in. If anything, whenever I saw this brand at Murale or any sort of wellness store, it seemed well OLD. I definitely don't see the tail end millennials talking about this brand because it doesn't have the same bells and whistles of what sells now, but looking at the ingredients and history, these sexy new organic skincare brands would not be even be around if it weren't for pioneer brands like Dr. Hauschka!

Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream

I don't often LOVE moisturizers or pay much attention to them, but this one really got me. The Rose Day Cream is for normal, dry and sensitive skin and pays special attention to calming, soothing and minimizing redness in the skin. This is a fairly thick consistency and when I first tried to use it at the beginning of summer, I was like "Nope!" I decided to give it another chance in the Fall/Winter and I was amazed at how a moisturizer with such a thick consistency could have a wonderfully non-greasy finish! It absorbs BEAUTIFULLY! I wore it with foundation and was convinced that because of the oils and shea butter in the formulation that my face would just start breaking down section by section, but I was very wrong. My makeup held up and obviously my skin didn't feel dry at any point throughout the day.

Final verdict: I recently started using this again because my cheeks started feeling sensitive and were getting red and I have to say that I have missed using this moisturizer because it really just feels like a soothing skin Bandaid allowing my skin to heal and get back to normal. It's like the warm blanket of moisturizers, has a wonderful, natural rose scent and I don't need much to feel like my skin is completely nourished. This is a moisturizer I will purchase once I finish up this tube because it just NEEDS to always be in my life.

You can find Dr. Hauschka at Whole Foods, Murale and the Shoppers Beauty Boutique.
