Yowza. The last time I did a makeup look on here was back in January?? That doesn't sound right, but that's what my search shows and I am disappoint! I used to be able to pump out one look a week, but it really slowed down last Spring when I found it really hard to bring myself to put on makeup and spend 2-3 hours photographing on a day I had off. I think if I had regular days off, planning would be much easier, but when they are all over the place where some days I'm at events or running errands, it becomes more important to have time to relax. Oddly enough, I don't think my job has changed much in terms of workload, but I don't think I have ever gotten used to not having energy so it's probably time to start working out and exercising like a healthy person since I'm not gettin' any younger!

A couple of weeks ago, a couple of us CBBers teamed up with Revlon to come up with an "ethereal" look featuring their metallic Colorstay Creme Eyeshadows and Galaxy Dream Holographic Highlighting Palette. I may not look like a mystical unicorn today, but I sure felt shiny!
I had originally received the Galaxy Dream Holographic Highlighting Palette* from the LD Beauty but had only briefly swatched a shade or two. In this look, I used the WHOLE palette and though the shades do show up, they are a bit on the more chalky side of highlighters I have used.
The surprise I had was from the Revlon Kiss Cushion Lip Tints*! I have never been a huge fan of tints as I always end up putting a gloss over top, but these guys really surprised me in terms of how they felt in formula. Yes, they had that "light as air" feel, but they felt like a light lipstick as opposed to this "watery kiss" that dried down and needed a balm to feel comfortable again. I wore a mixture of the two shades "Pink IRL" and "Naughty Mauve" as a full lip colour instead of a gradient lip and really enjoyed it! I am now looking to see if there are more shades that catch my eye!
Based on the two shades I tried, they were very buildable, creamy and smelled like vanilla mmmm!
The "piece de resistance" of the whole post were the Colorstay Creme Eyeshadows. I was sent the shades "Shimmering Pink" and "Earl Grey" both of which swatched quite nicely on my arm, but had a really hard time on my lids even with primer. It seemed like the more I blended the eyeshadow on my lids with my fingers/brushes, the more diffuse the colour would get so I actually layered the eyeshadow with the silver shade from the Galaxy Dream palette.
Each of the eyeshadows comes with a brush with plastic bristles and was actually good at lining my lower lash line. I did not think I would be able to line with a cream eyeshadow, but the little brush made it much easier!

While I thought the look came out pretty, I felt like I had to improvise quite a bit to make my eyes work. From the eyeshadow to the wheel liner, nothing felt comfortable. The foundation didn't feel or look full coverage at first, but as I continued to wear it throughout the day well into the 8 hour mark, it actually seemed to look better and more matte as the hours went by. I didn't see a trace of oil on my skin nor did the foundation break up in the oilier areas of my face.
You can find all of these Revlon goodies at mass drugstores across Canada.
