Purchased by me
I picked both of these masks up at CVS when I was in Maine last Fall (I grabbed like 35 masks so you'll probably hear me say "CVS in Maine" quite a bit!) because I wanted to give Yes To another chance since I do think the majority of their products are good. We all love a good bubble mask and generally the ones we see are charcoal-based and black in colour with bubbles so when I saw the Yes To Coconut Energizing Coffee and Yes To Grapefruit masks I had my fingers crossed that they were going to be delicious and they were!
This Yes to Coconut masks smelled more like artificial coconut with a coffee essence and is intended to perk up the skin while providing hydration and a deep clean to the skin.
The actual mask fit was the same as the paper masks so not great especially around the chin and the bubbles were not as plentiful as what I have become accustomed to when it comes to other bubble masks like the MaskerAide Bubble Bubble Pop Mask. Oddly enough, though I have complained about the fit of the eye holes on the paper mask, I don't mind having big eye holes on a bubble mask because it's really not pleasant having the bubbles feel dangerously close to my eyeballs.
I think all bubble masks operate on the same premise of "skin clarification", but seeing that the Yes to Grapefruit Bubble Mask was actually made of PINK biodegradable cotton, that kind of made my night! This mask contains extra brightening ingredients like grapefruit seed and orange peel extract and had a fizzy candy scent which I loved!
With the grapefruit mask, I felt like I had better bubbles and managed to make the chin fit better by using my origami folding prowess to tuck excess mask underneath other bits of mask!
Final verdict: Fit aside, the scents were relatively good, but the results were really what I liked! My skin did look brighter even with the decrease in the amount of bubbles and even though I still prefer the MaskerAide bubble mask, these ones from Yes To are a fun alternative that are also a bit more accessible and a little cheaper. Packaging is super cute down to the scalloped edges on the mask pack and the fact that the actual cotton is coloured makes for a fun experience even for a supposed grown-up like myself!
You can find Yes To Bubbling Masks at US mass drugstores and Ulta for us Canadians who would like to shop online!
