How is everyone feeling today? I have been moving at what feels like the pace of a sloth and trying to not feel guilty about taking it easy. We had Thanksgiving dinner just the two of us, but we still made quite a bit of food plus I decided we needed some dessert and baked a vanilla cake with homemade icing using one of the Jenny Can Cooks recipes and it turned out very yummy! I didn't have time to prepare my Halloween nails so I ended up painting AFTER dinner at midnight. Not ideal, but because I had today off as well, I figured I could afford to stay up and sleep in. I "slept in" until 9am because the guilt of not being all that productive yesterday jolted me awake. Also, as an adult, I find it very hard to sleep in past 9am. Even without an alarm, my body just wants to get up so I look forward to being 80 years old and puttering around at 6am!
As soon as I saw the new Cadillacquer Halloween collection, I stalked Nailstuff.ca until it came out and then placed my order last week! My order literally just arrived on Friday so I was itching to try out the polishes I ordered and I am sure they will all be as fantastic as the one I am wearing today - Crepuscle! Crepuscle refers to that time of darkness when the sun has just set which I think is the perfect name for this jelly polish as it goes from grey-blue when warm to black when cold. The bright yellow gold hex glitter also makes for a great representation of stars in the sky.
The transition phase is always my favourite as you get this natural French manicure if you have long nails! I was going to leave the manicure as is until today when I remembered seeing a technique on Instagram of using a thermal polish to mask a hidden design that was only revealed when the nails were at a certain temperature. Using some graveyard themed nail vinyls from WhatsUp Nails, I painted on some tombstones in black polish on just the tips of my nails. The design is only visible when my hands are warm which is pretty cool! Here is a video of the "reveal" in water if you would like to see it live!
