SHEET MASK | Holler and Glow Get Lit and Hangover SOS Masks

I am attempting to make life a little more interesting this month by wearing mostly printed masks in honour of Halloween! I have had to take a bit of a break from sheet masks the last week or so as I started getting some weird dry patches on my chin. My skin does not misbehave very often so when it does, I take my skincare back to basics and just use cleanser, toner and a very bland moisturizer. In this case, I stuck to a rosewater toner and Teaology Happy Balm until things cleared up which they finally did yesterday. This means, more printed masks as of tonight!

I received these masks from a Instagram follower of mine who was kind enough to send these fun-looking masks from Holler and Glow. I had seen this brand on Instagram while I was perusing the #sheetmask hashtag and it was actually the Hangover SOS mask which caught my eye because well, who wouldn't want a sheet mask covered in donuts?!

Get Lit Brightening

Like most printed masks, I don't look to masks like these for any real skincare benefits other than some extra moisture and a laugh or two, but when it came to ingredients, both of these masks weren't half bad and the featured ingredients were all featured in the top half of the ingredients list.

The Get Lit Brightening Sheet Mask focuses on brightening the skin with a blend of mulberry and lemon extract and vitamins B3 and B5. My skin did look and feel very happy upon removal of this mask, but I wouldn't say it was life-changing.

Holler and Glow Get Lit and Hangover SOS Mask Review

Mask Summary:

Price: $2.99 USD

Skin concerns: Dullness

Scent: Faint

Essence Type: Clear, watery

Duration: 15 minutes

Thickness: Thick

Mask Fit: Not great because of how thick it is. Chin was especially bad.

Tackiness: None

Hydration: Leaves skin feeling smooth, but I did need to add moisturizer on top.

Other notes: Cute design, despite how badly the mask fit. Also, not a lot of essence in package.

Hangover SOS Deep Moisture

This mask made me think of Homer Simpson the whole time I was wearing it! The Hangover SOS mask focuses on deep moisture with a blend of witch hazel, lemon and strawberry fruit extract, which quite honestly sounds more like a clarifying than moisturizing blend. My skin felt the same as the Get Lit mask and I definitely needed moisturizer on top.

Final verdict: Fun, but if you have more mature or dry/normal skin, you will want more hydration when using these masks. These are the kind of masks that you are glad you got a chance to try, but probably won't use again.

Holler and Glow is available at Target and from what I see, not available in Canada.
