SHEET MASK | Mad Beauty Disney with Minnie Mouse and Princess Jasmine

Happy Thanksgiving weekend! My work is actually closed on Sunday and Monday which is great since we all get a nice little weekend where we know that nothing is happening at the store and there isn't this sense of FOMO. I have been wanting to try Mad Beauty sheet masks as over the years they have come out with some very cute printed sheet masks with Disney themes. They are not easily available though and the only place online I have seen them is on Amazon.com, but then a few weeks ago, while visiting a friend in Coquitlam we them on a little beauty excursion to Wal-mart! They only had two so just for the sake of trying them, I had to grab 'em!

I will begin by saying that I won't be buying any masks from Mad Beauty now that I have a good idea of what they are like. You will see what I mean when you see my talking points below as I had such high hopes for these masks!

This Minnie Mouse had a very cute bow pattern and had a skincare focus of calming the skin using rose water. The print on the mask was very defined and because it was only on the sides of the face, the actual sheet was still soft and pliable. That being said, a thin sheet mask fabric is usually fairly absorbent, but in this case it was like the essence refused to be absorbed and instead kept dripping down my chin the entire 10 minutes I could stand to wear it!

Overall, I found the fit of the mask to be MASSIVE. A lot of it was in my hair and extra slits needed to be cut just so I wouldn't have bits of mask flopping around. In the end, the mask dried out so quickly that the sides were just flopping off my face so I had no choice but to remove it only at the 10 minute mark which is far too short for my liking. I also noticed that my face looked a bit redder and felt a bit tingly upon removal of the mask which I was not a fan of, but it calmed down after a few minutes. This kind of reaction is unusual for me though so this was mask with a cute red bow was definitely a red flag for me!

Mad Beauty Disney Princess Sheet Mask Review

Mask Summary (Minnie):

Price: I paid $4.99 CDN at Wal-Mart

Skin concerns: Hydration, soothing

Scent: Rose

Essence Type: Clear, watery

Duration: I could not leave this on for longer than 10 minutes because the mask was so floppy on the sides of my face.

Thickness: Thin, but not absorbent of essence and did not stick to my face well.

Mask Fit: It was quite bad on me with lots of excess sheet mask fabric hanging off the sides, the eyes were slanted at an odd angle and small and I had to cut slits around the nose.

Tackiness: Light

Hydration: Good

Other notes: The mask fabric while soft, did not retain essence very well and was constantly dripping down my chin.

The Princess Jasmine mask actually fit a lot better and was the one I preferred most out of the two. As I had tried the Minnie Mouse one first, I wasn't expecting much of a difference when opened up this mask, but I was pleasantly surprised. This mask focuses on revitalizing the skin with green tea extract, but it is well at the end of the ingredients list so I don't count on either of these masks for all that many skin benefits. This mask did fit better than the Minnie mask so I was able to fully leave this one on for about 20 minutes.

The pattern on this mask was quite pretty and I liked the overall purple sheet. Again, the material was fairly pliable and in this case held on to the essence well without dripping.

Mask Summary (Jasmine):

Price: I paid $4.99 CDN at Wal-Mart

Skin concerns: Refresh and revitalize

Scent: Green tea

Essence Type: Clear, watery

Duration: 15 minutes

Thickness: Thin and much better at retaining essence and there didn't seem to be as much excess sheet mask material hanging off my face.

Mask Fit: Not great, but better than the Minnie Mouse mask.

Tackiness: Light

Hydration: Good

Other notes: The mask fabric was soft and seemed to retain essence better than the previous mask.

Final verdict: These masks aren't the cheapest so it was unfortunate that they just didn't fit well. I don't know who has a face this big, but apparently these masks fit in a way that I can't enjoy. The print was cute and the scents were nice, but that's where it ends for me.

Were you hoping these masks would be better?
