I feel like it has been a weird week. I feel like I was still catching up from being on vacation two weeks ago and I have been really motivated at work to keep busy and "Marie Kondo" my days and focusing on what brings me joy there which has made the week FLY. Due to my efficiency at my day job, I did not have the energy for this space even though I missed it so! I was inspired by Earth Month last month to dive into my more "natural" sheet mask brands one of which was a Korean skincare brand I picked up from London Drugs a few years ago (yes, yet another set of masks from 2019/2020). Let's have a closer look at HelloGanic!

Created by Dr. Jisoo, HelloGanic masks are made of eucalyptus fibres, vegan, cruelty-free and focuses on using plant ingredients that are good enough to eat like tomatoes, coconut and beans! 

Firming with Tomato and Artemesia

What makes this mask special? This mask uses tomato fruit extract to promote skin elasticity and also contains mushroom, licorice, broccoli and artemesia extract all within the first 10 ingredients!

Mask Summary:

Price: $2.99

What it does: Firming

Scent: Kind of floral and NOT like a tomato LOL

Essence Type: Slightly milky in colour, but watery in texture

Duration: 20 minutes

Thickness: Thin, not quite as smooth as Cupra or Tencel fabrics as eucalpytus is a bit stiffer

Mask Fit: Good

Tackiness: None, but it takes about 1.5h for the tackiness to disappear - well worth it though!

Hydration: Sooo nice

Other notes: Skin felt almost creamy!

Hydrating with Coconut and Rose Water

What makes this mask special? This mask has coconut, aloe vera and rose flower water to hydrate and soothe the skin along with cucumber and mushroom extract to plump and refresh. Again, all of these ingredients are right at the beginning of the list!

What it does: Hydration with coconut water

Scent: Cotton

Essence Type: Slightly milky, but watery in texture

Duration: 20 minutes

Pore Refining with Adlay and Black Bean

What makes this mask special? This mask contains black bean an antioxidant, soybean to strengthen the skin barrier and adlay aka Job's Tears which is a grain rich in niacin to calm irritated skin and help with breakouts. Whenever I see anything described as "pore refining", I immediately expecting it to be mattifying, but this was similar to the other two masks in that my skin was super soft and creamy after using it!

What it does: Pore-refining and texture improving

Scent: Vanilla floral

Essence Type: Slightly milky in colour, but watery in texture

Duration: 20 minutes

Thickness: Thin, not quite as smooth as Cupra or Tencel fabrics as eucalpytus is a bit stiffer

Mask Fit: Good

Tackiness: None, but it takes about 1.5h for the tackiness to disappear - well worth it though!

Final verdict: Though these masks took awhile to absorb, the results of creamy skin were so worth it! I wish that London Drugs had continued to stock them because they were such a good price for great quality of ingredients! Now, it looks like I can only find them on Amazon...
