Purchased by me
Here we are at March and I have April and May ready to go as well! I actually really liked March's bag in terms of the variety of products as it included both makeup and skincare that were actually products I would use! That's always the case with these subscriptions, but generally Ipsy has been pretty fun for me!
E.L.F. COSMETICS | Halo Glow Blush Beauty Wand in Magic Hour
This is most definitely a Charlotte Tilbury dupe and we all know how much CT loves brands who copy her (side eye). This is a glowy, liquid highlighter that actually looks super pretty on top of blush when tapped on lightly with the fingertips.
It looks pretty pigmented at the start, but sheers out to a more skin-like finish so that your skin looks candlelit! Super nice shade as well! I received the FULL SIZE worth $13 CDN.
OLIVIAUMMA | Pudding Calming Everyday Cream
Miami-based, Korean skincare brand Oliviaumma is a new-to-me which translates to "Olivia's Mom" and honours founder, Hye Young Kim's daughter and the bond they have built through skincare. Their bright packaging makes their products Instagram-worthy, but all are made in Korea and rooted in effective Korean skincare. They love the look of glass skin so many of their products focus on achieving this look with this moisturizer being one of them! With aloe vera to soothe, ceramides and panthenol to strengthen the skincare barrier, this pudding-like cream promises and glassy, fresh appearance.
As cute as this brand looks, their pricing is definitely NOT in line with typical Kbeauty pricing as moisturizers and serums range in price from $48-$68 USD! I don't think this will work if you are going to sell your brand as a Korean beauty brand especially to a growing market who knows just how affordable Kbeauty is with ingredients that are just as good! I feel like the only people who will buy these products are people who are unfamiliar with the pricing of Kbeauty and find the concept of glass skin to be a novel one. I received a deluxe size worth $8 USD.
HOLA NEON | Lip Drip Oil in Gloss Me

Another new-to-me brand, Hola Neon seems to specialize in lip products ranging from super pigmented liquid lipsticks to liners and lip oils. The Lip Drip Lip Oil Collection comes in 4 shades with this shade Gloss Me being the most neutral as it is a very pale pink that gives the tiniest hint of colour (swatch is below). The texture is definitely on the thicker side, but zero stickiness as promised and quite pleasant! I would describe their texture as "encapsulating" on the lips. Some lip oils are a little drippy, but this one is very similar to the thickness of the OG lip oils from Clarins. I received a FULL SIZE worth $21 USD.
DALLAS & JAMES SKINCARE CO. | Watermelon Dream Overnight Glow Mask
I call this brand the watermelon brand as I have used a watermelon eye cream from Dallas & James before and quite liked it. I like this mask waaaay more! I love the texture and the way it truly is "pillow-proof" because the finish almost immediately dried down to a comfortable, silky finish. One of the nicest sleeping masks I have used! I received a deluxe size worth $17.70 USD.
THE NUE CO. | Skin Filter Serum
Interestingly, this brand seems more well-known for their very intriguing fragrances and supplements and are more of a wellness brand. It actually took some effort for me to find this product on their website. One thing I don't like about "clean" brands like this one is when they use the word retinol, when really it is a plant-alternative that they say mimics the effects of retinol. You are piggy-backing on the efficacy of retinol, but not using the actual ingredient which has always annoyed me. As a clean brand, you don't like how "dirty" retinol is, but yet you have no problem using its success on skin in the advertisement of your product. Nue Co. isn't the only brand that does this - tons do, but it just annoys me. Anyways, the texture is very gel-like and spreadable so a little does go a long way! I received a deluxe sample size worth $21.67 USD.
Final verdict: Even though I ranted a bit there, I did like the actual product assortment and have been using everything! The total value of my March Ipsy Original Bag was $107.21 CDN. A little inflated on the samples, but the two full size products were totally up my alley which made the difference!
Have a great weekend everyone!
