I am officially on vacation for the next two weeks! I will have one week at home and then the next we will be travelling to Montreal to visit family! My brother-in-law and his partner just had a baby boy so we will be meeting him for the first time! I also have not been to Montreal since 2018 so almost 10 years! This is mainly due to the pandemic and us not having someone to watch the cats while we are gone, but we are trying out a cat-sitting service this time around so let's see how things go!
Mushrooms are one of my favourite "vegetable" (technically, it should be called a fungus) so when I received these sheet masks from Elisha Coy, I was excited even though I could not consume them LOL!
I chose the Lift Up sheet mask first as I figured out of the three masks, this one would be the most hydrating and I was kind of right! What makes this particular mask special is the presence of black truffle which is believed to be an effective humectant and antioxidant though there is not much scientific proof to support this. It also contains beta glucan to bring a healthy glow to the skin and peptides!

Mask Summary:
Price: $2 USD
What it does: Increase skin resilience and brighten skin
Scent: Herbal
Essence Type: Clear and lightly viscous
Duration: 30 minutes
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: Really nice! Fabric is kind of spongy and absorbs essence well!
Tackiness: Super light
Hydration: Pretty good and then I just layered on a sleeping mask, but I probably would have been fine without it.
Other notes: N/A
Moving on to the Hydra sheet mask, this mask contains cauliflower mushroom extract known for its high concentration of beta glucan. This also contains hyaluronic acid for an additional dose of moisture.
Mask Summary:
Price: $2 USD
What it does: Hydrate
Scent: Herbal
Essence Type: Clear, slightly viscous
Duration: 30 minutes
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: Pretty good, but I cut slits around my eyes so the mask would lie flat
Tackiness: Light
Hydration: Good, but I did still add a drop of Akar facial oil
Other notes: N/A
Finally, we have the Calming sheet mask which contains a somewhat amazing mushroom extract called
Ganoderma lucidum or Lingzhi which I have previously seen in The Face Shop sheet masks. This particular fungus has a number of "abilities" including antioxidant and anti-inflammatory functions and promoting skin would healing (
Yin et al., August 2026). Additionally, this mask contains the calming ingredient allantoin.
Mask Summary:
Price: $2 USD
What it does: Soothe irritated skin
Scent: Herbal
Essence Type: Clear, slightly viscous
Duration: 30 minutes
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: Pretty good, but I cut slits around my eyes so the mask would lie flat
Tackiness: Light
Hydration: Good! I didn't add any moisturizer after this mask, but it also could be because it was a particularly warm night when I used it!
Other notes: N/A
Final verdict: I enjoyed all three masks with regards to the mask material as well as the ingredients. All of the fungi were featured in the top half of the ingredients list with the Lift Up mask having the ingredients I enjoyed the most! I wish there were more mushroom masks around as I always enjoy how my skin feels after using them whether it is a serum or a mask.
These masks have since been discontinued which is so sad, but if I come across any good mushroom masks in the future, I will be sure to let you know!
