SKINCARE | Aveeno #FreshEssentials Review

My first experience with Aveeno was due to a case of pityriasis rosea that struck my skin back in 2011. It was the most random thing as I have never been one to have sensitive or finicky skin, but my immune system freaked out and gave me rashes on my torso and legs that took about 2 months to disappear. It was Aveeno Colloidal Oatmeal moisturizer that was the only thing I could use to pacify my angry skin. The Aveeno Fresh Essentials line focuses on ingredients known as “Active Naturals”, specially selected to provide skin with potent plant benefits. Artemisia abrotanum or Southernwood Extract is the featured active natural ingredient in the Fresh Essentials line and has historically been used in herbal medicine. However, in the case of the Fresh Essentials line, it acts as an anti-oxidant that helps to reveal fresher, smoother looking skin - a concept I’m sure is not foreign to most of us!

Beauty Box 5 | Review and Critique

Beauty Box 5 is a subscription-based sample service that I have been subscribed to since of August 2012. BB5 is based in Austin, Texas and has been one of the more consistent subscription services in terms of pricing and content. The subscription prices are exactly the same as when I first blogged about my first box which is saying something since every other subscription I’ve had has gone up in price by a few dollars. In fact, if you see below, the yearly subscription price has actually DECREASED by $1!

Beauty Box 5 | June 2013 Edition

Omigoodness, I am so behind! Granted, I still have yet to receive the July BB5 so maybe I’m not THAT tardy. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed with product lately which is of course nothing to complain about, but it does mean that things get lost in that giant mound of cosmetics we beauty lovers have!

Coolway | Cool Cleanse Shampoo & Hydrate Conditioner

Thoughts: We’ve been seeing a lot of Coolway in recent BB5s and granted none of the products I’ve received have been shampoo and conditioner so at least this will be something new to try.

December 2012 Glossybox

Well, what do you know? My December Glossybox actually made it to me yesterday and we are still in December! I know some girls haven’t received their boxes yet so I consider myself fortunate. I LOVED this month’s box. Mostly drugstore items, but again all items I would use. This month’s box is a collaboration with LouLou and came packaged in a silver, instead of the usual matte pink box. I had not seen any previews for the December Glossybox so opening it was truly a surprise!
