Dove Advanced Hair Care Series | Oxygen Moisture Leave-In Foam and Root Lift Spray

The Dove Oxygen Moisture line is killing it when it comes to products that are working for my hair! In conjunction with the shampoo and conditioner that I have previously reviewed, I have also been using the Leave-In Foam ($7.98) and Root Lift Spray ($7.98) both of which I have been enjoying to add volume and give life to my hair.

Dove | Advanced Hair Series Oxygen Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner

I always forget that as the seasons change, we change our makeup and skincare routines, but I always tend to forget about my hair…until IT tells me to do something in the form of just looking lackluster and/or evolving into a beehive of nonsense. After using the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil shampoo and conditioner for a couple of weeks, my hair told me in private that it was time to change it up once more so I started using the Dove Oxygen Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner ($6.75 each) to breathe some life back into my less than impressive limp locks.

Introducing NEW Dove Oxygen Moisture: A weightless range with OXYFUSION technology that contains moisture ingredients fused with oxygen that instantly dissolve on hair, giving deep down moisture while adding body and fullness. Hair is left feeling beautifully bouncy, moisturized and full of natural volume. In the lab - OXYFUSION: Dove Oxygen Moisture is a result of the latest advancement in the science of hair moisturization. It involves the fusion of styling polymers with oxygen, leaving hair with 95% more volume*.

Dove Oxygen Moisture Shampoo

First of all, the colour itself was already psyching me up with some good hair vibes! The light sky blue definitely makes you think “OXYGEN”. The scent of this is lighter than that of the Pure Care Dry Oil line and makes my hair feel very clean without stripping it of moisture.

Dove Oxygen Moisture Conditioner

I feel like this baby right here is the ticket to my revitalized hair! The conditioner is supposed to smooth hair without weighing it down which is what I found the Pure Care Dry Oil conditioner WAS doing to my hair. After air-drying/blow-drying, my hair felt so light and sleek. I don’t know about Oxyfusion technology, but whatever is in this bottle worked for my hair!

Final Verdict: When I went to be a hair model for my friend in makeup school, she remarked that my hair was so soft and slippery. She did my hair for my wedding so she is familiar with the texture of my hair and asked if I had put any product in prior to showing up and I literally told her ‘No, I’m using the new Dove Oxygen Moisture series!”

This shampoo and conditioner is targeted for fine, limp hair and even though I do not have fine hair, the “limp” part certainly applied to me and the only way I can describe my hair after using this duo is that it feels weightless. It’s not flat at the top anymore and has also become naturally straighter so I don’t have to straighten the bulk of it. Just my side bangs. For those of you who live in Vancouver, I can set up meetings for you to touch my hair so you can experience what I’m experiencing OR you can just go and pick this duo up and try it out for yourselves! (Probably the better option)

Dove Advanced Hair Care Series| Pure Care Dry Oil

Forgive me for sounding like a broken record, but this season along with dry skin comes dry hair. My hair is a bit funny thanks to my somewhat mixed Asian heritage. Most Orientals have thick, straight hair and lots of it. I have thick, wavy hair, but not very much of it which often leads to a crazy amount of flyaways and frizziness when lacking in moisture. I feel like I have been living with bobby pins and hairspray in my hair for the last couple of months just because my flyaways are forming a “fuzz halo” around my head! Thank goodness for the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Line which has managed to tame my frizziness and dryness while making my hair smell incredibly luxurious.

Formulated with precious African Macadamia Oil, Dove Pure Care Dry Oil offers nourishment in every drop. The line contains pressed oil droplets that are carefully extracted from precious natural ingredients, and contains no parabens – just the finest pure oil.

Both the Pure Care Dry Oil Shampoo & Conditioner ($6.97) are infused with African Macadamia Oil and are silicone-free. They both have a sweet, almost musky scent that might be a bit strong for some. I quite enjoy the scent, but someone like my husband was not used to it.

September 2012 Glossybox

I should have been really really excited about September’s Glossybox, but alas, I already had the most loved item in the box! So, if I didn’t already have this item, I definitely would have been just as excited as everyone else because overall it was a pretty snazzy Glossybox! I’m sad that the price is going up though to $21 as it seems a little much for what we’re getting now so I’m *hoping* this means the products in each box will be of higher quality. We shall see!

July 2012 Glossybox as Presented by Yoshi the Cat

DSCF4249

Hello minions,

My human thought it might be a nice change for me to introduce July’s Glossybox because you can see from my face that I was quite pleased with its contents.

Here is what my human received:

Beauty So Clean Sanitizer Wipes

DSCF4252

There convenient cosmetic sanitizer wipes are effective for sanitizing makeup that accumulates visible debris like dust, lint and food particles.

Thoughts: I really don’t use these at all…I can appreciate the concept of them and you’d think that after years of microbiology classes I’d be scared of little microbes living on my makeup, but I’ve never had any breakouts or weird skin upsets from my from my makeup so these will be probably just sit unused. I know some people really love them, but I don’t think these are for me…

Full size: 48 wipes/$12.50

I received: 4 wipes/$1.04

Dove Softening Creme Body Wash

DSCF4255

Get visibly more beautiful skin in just 1 week. Use daily for soft, smooth skin.

Thoughts: The scent of this is somewhat strong so I’m not sure if I like it yet…even Yoshi backed off right away when he got a whiff of this!

Full size: 200mL/$5.99

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Alessandro Pedix Feet Heel Rescue Balm

DSCF4256

Protects and nourishes your skin with shea butter, allantoin and tea tree oil.

Thoughts: I know foot creme has been a big thing for summer, but it has really come in handy! I don’t know how useful allantoin is, but manufacturers say that it does increase the smoothness of the skin due to increasing water content in the extracellular matrix of skin cells. I guess we shall see! This is a great little travel size and smells really nice! I also love the fact that it’s a German product. How exotic!

Full size: 100mL/$19.95

I received: 30mL/$5.99

Zoya Nail Polish in Arizona

DSCF4254

Summer 2012 is going to be super stylish season for nails with the latest offering designed by the Zoya experts. It is kissed by sea and sand with the famous full-coverage Zoya formula.

Thoughts: Aaahh! A colour I don’t have! I love Zoya polishes so I had my fingers crossed that I wouldn’t get a colour I had already! From the swatches I have seen, this is a bright and creamy orange. Makes me want creamsicles…

Full size: 0.5oz/$8.00

I received: *FULL SIZE*

John Frieda Frizz Ease Sheer Solution

frieda

Shake to activate the dual formula – part lightweight serum, part smoothing elixir – to fight frizz from the outside while hydrating hair from the inside.

Thoughts: My hair actually gets pretty frizzy depending on the weather so I will definitely be using this. Did some people get a full size of this??

Full size: 60mL/$14.99

I received: 10mL/$2.50

Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer in Plum

DSCF4272

               DSCF4253       DSCF4255

A kiss of colour and pearlized shine add a hint of glamour to this world famous lip balm.

Thoughts: It’s a little bit dark for what I normally wear, but the moisture factor was there and I love the minty scent and tingle. This is the first time I’ve tried a Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer so I’m tempted to get a lighter colour that I’d wear more regularly.

Full size: 2.6g/$5.99

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Total Value of Glossybox: $29.51

Okay, so you can probably tell that Yoshi didn’t get to present the entire Glossybox since he turned up his nose at half of the products…cats…so snobby. Anyway, I know the value of this month’s Glossybox wasn’t high, but I enjoyed the variety of products I received. The Zoya polish was what made it for me!
