MAKEUP | Mary Kay Fall 2019 Collection with Makeup Look

I can't believe I used to be able to do makeup looks every week AND blog about them while working full-time. I have been run off my feet probably the whole year at this point always playing catch up and while I used to have a bit of energy to blog at night, I haven't been able to do so in months. Though I wear makeup everyday for work and a full face of it at that, I haven't really played with a full makeup look since I was on staycation back in September. I don't think that's going to change a whole lot for the remainder of the year as things just keep getting busier and I am now overcapacity at work so if anything, like many bloggers, it's possible you will see less of me because I will be sleeping!

BEAUTY | Burt's Bees Fall Makeup Look

Yes, I still have makeup posts that involve me NOT wearing a sheet mask! At last month's London Drugs Beauty event, I had the pleasure of visiting the Burt's Bees booth and experiencing a couple of the makeup products I hadn't tried yet. While I have only tried their lip products and skincare, I was curious about the quality of their face and eye products as I hadn't read or heard too much about them. Obviously the great thing with Burt's Bees is that I know the packaging and the ingredients will always be good for me and the environment.

I was pretty crazy about beauty subscription boxes a few years ago and I still look back at the beginnings of Glymm and Luxe Box with very fond memories, but once I started blogging more regularly, the amount of unused product from these beauty boxes was staggering and I was essentially paying every month only to give the product away! MAKEUP LOOK | ARTDECO Mystical Forest Collection Review & Swatches

Even though it’s December, it’s technically still Fall according to the calendar so I cannot resist squeezing in one more Fall-inspired look! How I wish ARTDECO was in more Shoppers Drug Marts in my area so that I didn’t have to wait one whole year since posting my last ARTDECO look! My last review was for a summer look with the Miami Collection (here) so the Fall Mystical Forest Collection is going to look quite different! We’re doing more smoky eyes today, but with some Fall wine shades thrown in to give the look a bit more dimension. The full collection features earthy nudes, warm beiges, smoky greys and of course the characteristic dark berry shades of Fall all inspired by a misty autumn day in the woods.

MAKEUP LOOK | Fall Freshness with Guerlain KissKiss RoseLip and Rose Aux Joues Tendre Blush Review & Swatches

I absolutely love the inspiration behind this season's Guerlain Bloom of Rose Collection as it revolves around a 19th century discovery of a liquid tint that was gently dabbed onto the lips and cheeks. In 1918, Guerlain launched Roselip, which was the first solid lip colour to be sold in a jar and now the story continues with a collection that embodies natural shades to maintain a beautiful healthy glow - just like a rose. To pull away from all of the smoky Fall eyes I've been doing, I decided to channel the fresh faced makeup looks from Korea using the new KissKiss RoseLip Hydrating & Plumping Tinted Lip Balm* ($41.00 CDN) and Rose Aux Joues Tender Blush* ($57.00 CDN).

Vasanti Cosmetics Myeong-Dong Collection | Fall Makeup Look ft. the Casa Mila Silky Eyeshadow Duo and Lightning Liner in Thunderbolt

Shortly before I was struck down with strep throat, I was having a blast with some of the new eyeshadow palettes (Fall Look #1) from the Vasanti Cosmetics Myeong-Dong Collection and playing around with its many bright colours. My makeup goal before I get too old and inappropriate to wear crazy colours is to try as many outlandish looks as possible. For some reason, the makeup looks I try to create always look much more “brave” in real-life than in photos so something tells me that I am going to have to amp it up in the boldness department! Shu Uemura is really bringin’ it this Fall season with bright pops of colour so let’s begin with the Brave Beauty Eye Palette in Orange ($90 CDN) that I now love SO SO much for Fall!

NYC New York Color | Fall 2014 Runway-Inspired Smoky Blue Eyes

What I am absolutely LOVING about this Fall season is how much COLOUR there is in every collection from makeup to the runway. After having just attended Vancouver Fashion Week, I can safely say that colour is here to stay through those often dreary Fall Vancouver months. As part of the New York Color Canada Beauty Pro Program, my challenge was to create a catwalk-worthy look. From the makeup I usually see on a runway, my look is quite tame. Maybe I’ll spunk it up next time, but I know that blue eye shadow can be a scary one to wear so let’s start with baby steps!

Vasanti Cosmetics Myeong-Dong Collection | Fall Makeup Look with the Lake Palace Silky Eyeshadow Duo (I LOVE IT!)

A few weeks ago, I posted with great excitement of the Vasanti Cosmetics Myeong-Dong Collection and today I will be sharing with you all a fairly straightforward eye makeup look for Fall using the Lake Palace Silky Eyeshadow Duo ($22 CDN). Composed of a slightly metallic gorgeous mushroom brown and a matte dark green, what I love about all of these duos for Fall is that at first glance the two colours seem to clash with each other, but after playing with them I realized that seemingly clashing colours CAN work!
