MAKEUP | Divine Wine Avon "A" Box

I was pretty crazy about beauty subscription boxes a few years ago and I still look back at the beginnings of Glymm and Luxe Box with very fond memories, but once I started blogging more regularly, the amount of unused product from these beauty boxes was staggering and I was essentially paying every month only to give the product away! This won't be the case with the Avon A Box* as there is no subscription necessary and you get a preview of the items included so there aren't any unwelcomed surprises! Each box is $10 with any $40+ purchase and contains a mixture of full and deluxe sized items so no foil packets here!

Avon Fall Makeup Look

This Fall debuts the first Avon "A" Box with a theme of "Divine Wine". As you can tell, this is a very Fall appropriate box filled with five makeup essentials for the perfect Fall makeup look!

Avon Fall Makeup Look

Inside is the: True Colors Eyeshadow Palette in Romantic Mauves*, Glimmerstick Eyeliner in Sugar Plum*, True Color Lipstick in Vamp*, Big and Daring Mascara* and True Color Nail Enamel in Midnight Plum*.

Avon Fall Makeup Look

I am a big fan of the Avon Eyeshadow Quads and though the shades in Romantic Mauves swatched well enough, they ended up looking quite tame on my skin tone. This would probably be much more dramatic on someone with fair skin or if you prefer more subtle eye looks.

The Glimmerstick in Sugar Plum was a standout product for me as it lasted well in my waterline and had this hint of shimmer that really made my eyes *pop*.

The dud of the group was the Avon True Color Lipstick in Vamp which just refused to apply smoothly to my lips! It almost looks like I have ombre lips because the lipstick just refused to cling to my lips period. I have not had this issue with other shades of True Color so I am thinking it is just this particular shade. Darker shades are harder to work with in general for a lot of brands, but unfortunately I will have to pass on Vamp.

Avon Fall Makeup Look

The Fall look that ended up coming together was actually quite pretty and feminine and is one that I actually would wear. The Eyeshadow Palette had very clear instructions on how to use the shades in the best way so that's what I did being the easily overwhelmed makeup application individual I am.

I am quite excited that Fall is finally here and though I don't love vampy looks for everyday, I think purples and mauves are a beautiful way to work Fall into your everyday makeup routine. Avon has since released a few other "A" boxes that have different themes and I look forward to seeing what other boxes come out because if you hadn't noticed, Avon carries A HELLUVA lot of stuff!

The Avon "A" Box is available at www.avon.ca and your local Avon representative.
