A few weeks ago, I posted with great excitement of the Vasanti Cosmetics Myeong-Dong Collection and today I will be sharing with you all a fairly straightforward eye makeup look for Fall using the Lake Palace Silky Eyeshadow Duo ($22 CDN). Composed of a slightly metallic gorgeous mushroom brown and a matte dark green, what I love about all of these duos for Fall is that at first glance the two colours seem to clash with each other, but after playing with them I realized that seemingly clashing colours CAN work!
Although these eyeshadows weren’t the softest, they swatched beautifully! I love that brown! The green came out more teal on my arm, but more forest green when on my eye.
I’m never all that creative when it comes to my eye makeup looks so to create the above look, I applied the brown shade all over my upper lid and used a fluffy brush to bring the colour around my brow bone in a “window wiper” motion. I then took the green and lined underneath my eyes with a pencil shadow brush. I don’t know why, but I felt the urge to add some “metal” to this look as metallics are very much in for Fall and lined my lower waterline with a gold eyeliner.
Final Verdict: I really enjoyed the Lake Palace palette just for the mushroom brown shade alone! I do wish the green came out more as a bright teal on my eyes, but this tends to happen with most green eyeshadows for me. The pigmentation and application were both amazing and did not require me to use any primer to bring out colour intensity. If the other eyeshadow duos apply like this one, I can safely say that I’d recommend them all!
