Hello Makeup, my old friend. That's swhat goes through my head whenever I start to put together a full face of makeup and though I am still tip-toeing back into a real daily makeup routine, I have started wearing tinted moisturizer as foundation and lipstick almost everyday! In this time of mask-wearing, I find that people are either wearing less or MORE makeup. I think it all comes down to your occupation and whether you are on your own or customer facing as you obviously wouldn't be wearing a mask if you are spending most of your time at home. I have been especially focused on lips as I still like wear some sort of colour as my natural lip colour is quite pale. While I have been wearing a number matte liquid lipsticks, for mornings where I am in a rush or just don't feel like taking the time to painstakingly outline my lips (let's face it, a liquid lipstick takes TIME to apply!), a longwearing lip tint has also been working for me. When it comes to lip tints, the Korean beauty world is really where it's at as tints are standard in their makeup looks whether it'd be casual or dressy. Avon and The Face Shop have been really killin' it with the products they have partnered up on and released so here are the Ink Tattoo Lip Tints!

KBEAUTY | VDL Expert Color Lip Cube Must-Haves with Swatches

Last week I was raving about the VDL Lumilayer Primer, but I have also been enjoying some lip goodies that came highly recommended and thankfully I agree! It's always so disappointing when products are bestsellers and then you use them and you don't understand what the hype was all about. I have always been the eternal pessimist so I generally think products (and people really) are crap until proven otherwise. I am happy to report that all went well with these VDL Expert Color Lip Cubes and I hope more shades become available at The Face Shop!

KOREAN BEAUTY | Peripera Peri's Ink in #5 No-Spoiler Swatches and Review

A personal, unwritten resolution of mine last year was to talk more about Korean beauty products since I have quite the personal collection! I am going to try and do one better this year and have a Korean beauty post every week so hopefully I can get into the routine of it! I find Korean makeup brands to be "not quite" as up there with North American brands when it comes to formulation and innovation, there are a few products that are either packaged so cutely or so talked about that I just have to run out (to my computer) and click "Complete Order"!

If there is one thing Korean beauty has down, it's the lip stain. Most Korean makeup looks involve just a hint of colour in the form of a gradient lip and I have to say that when I picked up the Peripera Peri's Ink in No-Spoiler, it was hands down so much more pleasant to use than any of the North American brands I had tried. This includes the luxe brands too! This is a long-wearing "tattoo-like" lip stain that promises comfort in addition to colour payoff and longevity. Let's see how it did!

KOREAN BEAUTY | Clio Virgin Kiss Tinted Lip in #22 Electric Review & Swatch

Korean cosmetics are really unlike anything on the North American market. Makeup is always fun and there is always something a little “extra” with every product. Like a lip tint you achieve by PEELING off the gloss or an eyeshadow that smells like chocolate and is packaged to look like a chocolate cupcake. With the Clio Virgin Kiss Tinted Lips, they can either glow in the dark under blue LEDs OR used to layer with other Virgin Kiss Lips to create new colours OR as a hydrating lip tint. The latter doesn’t sound QUITE so interesting anymore, huh?

No. 22* is one of the almost neon shades in this family of Virgin Kiss Tinted Lip products and can be layered with other “Virgins” to create new shades or lipstick gradients. This can also be used as a lip tint and feels almost lip balmy, but isn’t quite as hydrating. 

MAKEUP REVIEW | The Body Shop Enchanting Eye Palette Dolly Pastels and Geisha Doll Lip & Cheek Stain

I didn’t get a chance to do as many holiday looks as I had wanted as I was distracted with Yoshi’s deteriorating condition for the remainder of December. The Body Shop had a number of uber cute holiday makeup releases, two of which were the Dolly Pastels Enchanting Eye Palette* and the Geisha Doll Lip and Cheek Stain*.  This is one makeup look that I feel a little embarrassed showing all of you because the colours from eyeshadow palette just did not work with my skin tone. Other reviews for this palette were positive, so I have a feeling it was just me, but feel free to see how the colours ended up looking on me!

Revlon | Fall Makeup Look with Shadowlinks Eyeshadows in Onyx, Khaki, Chocolate and Oyster and Moisture Stain in Parisian Passion (With Swatches)

This SHOULD have been up about a week ago, but silly me had to contract strep throat along with an unrelenting fever in the worst way possible delaying all of this lovely Fall beauty goodness. Many of you are familiar with the Revlon Shadowlinks Eyeshadows (review) and there are some new shades for this Fall season that are sure to delight your inner forest nymph.
