I have mentioned before that I do not often do event posts, but the last one I did for London Drugs (here) seemed to be well-received so I figured I would try to share a glimpse of what happens at media events and what we as bloggers are privy to. Some events are either at night where the light is not great or it's REALLY crowded so getting photos can be a challenge, but today at the Estee Lauder Spring preview I had the whole place to myself!
Yesterday's preview took place at one of my favourite hotels in Vancouver - the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, which is where my husband and I treat ourselves almost every anniversary because it is just one of the nicest hotels in Vancouver! The actual event took place in one of the penthouse suites on the top floor and when I walked in, I was immediately greeted with a chocolate wall of lips to showcase the lauch of the new Pure Color Liquid Envy glosses! We will get to that later, but the highlight of the preview was the new Perfectionist Pro which is an anti-aging collection targeted at "defying gravity" and filling in wrinkles ANYWHERE.

No Estee Lauder preview is complete without a new fragrance from daughter Aerin and this Spring's fragrance, Hibiscus Palm is a blend of lotus flower, hibiscus palm, ylang ylang and ginger. This scent definitely reminds me of a tropical paradise, but not in an overdone coconut bath way (you know what I mean?). All Aerin fragrances are so carefully balanced that even someone like myself who doesn't like florals found myself wearing Aerin's Gardenia Rattan to the event.
The collection also comes with a beautifully decorated 150mL body cream which enhances the longevity of the eau de parfum.
Next up was the new DayWear Eye which is an instant eye refresher as it is a lightewight cooling gel with cucumber extract which fills in fine lines, soothes puffy eyes and just makes you feel a bit more human. It also smells faintly like cucumber.
Estee Lauder has long been huge in the Asian market so it only made sense to have a limited edition red and gold version of their celebrated Advanced Night Repair in honor of the Lunar New Year. Same coveted formula, but VERY display-worthy packaging!
Next up are the newest lip additions to the Pure Envy line coming in three different finishes: matte, metallic and vinyl, these Liquid Lipcolors contain the same sculpting pigments as the lipsticks and come in so many deliciously wearable colours!
Many press events have "activities" that allow us to experience the products being showcased so in this case, we call got the opportunity to receive lip touch-ups with the new lip colours! I was going grocery shopping after so I opted for a neutral look using 201 Heartcrush (Matte) with 101 Naked Ambition (matte) in just the center of my lip (sorry for how dry I look!). Both shades are definitely on my wishlist!
And of course, the two new products that were the highlight of the morning were the Perfectionist Pro Rapid Firm and Lift Treatment with Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 and Instant Wrinkle Filler Tri-Polymer Blend.
The peptide treatment is to be used after Advanced Night Repair and can be used both day and night. It was very weightless and left my skin feeling smooth and plump. My favourite product would have to be wrinkle filler because it can be used directly on the lips as primer! I will DEFINITELY be getting back to you guys on that because you know I'm really into lip primers now!
With most events, media are usually given a selection of products that have been featured which in yesterday's case included both Perfectionist Pro products, a Pure Envy Liquid Lipcolor (I received a metallic red) and a bottle of the limited edition Advanced Night Repair. I will be reviewing most likely all of these products in the coming months so stay tuned!
