Last year, Dior came out with a more pigmented shade of their Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm in Berry and now there are more! Introducing two new finishes and new shades, these Lip Glows ($41.00 CDN) are kind of a relief to see after seasons of matte finishes and are the easiest lip products to use when you don't feel like fussing over applying lipstick, but want a little bit of hydrating colour for an MLBB look.
I have six new shades to share with two of them being *gasp* holographic! There is also a Matte Raspberry shade which is termed a "soft matte balm" and looked quite pretty too. If you aren't familiar with the texture of Dior's Lip Glows, I think of them like a slow moving balm. They aren't oily, though they do contain mango butter, and have a bit of a "stick" to them which I feel helps the formula stay on the lips longer. The pigmentation is very subtle and when I wore them all on my lips, the difference was quite subtle on camera so it seemed a bit pointless to show lip swatches.
Christine of SimplyNailogical would DIE at the use of holographic here as the holographic finish is more of a shimmer, but you can see that both shades are quite wearable day to day and feel just as smooth in texture as their classic Lip Glow siblings.
These also make a great lip primer! I always have to wear lip balm underneath my lipstick and because beeswax based balms are my favourite, I have to use them very sparingly or else my lips get too oily and my lipstick just looks greasy. Since the Lip Glows have a stickier texture, I find I don't have to worry as much about how much I am using.
Final verdict: If you are looking for ONE really nice multipurpose lip balm then the Lip Glows are your luxurious answer. You get a lip balm, primer and a hint of colour all in one and the pretty pink packaging helps! I don't think it's necessary to own all of the shades, but the pink and raspberry were my favourite because I like having a deeper natural-looking flush to my lips. Which shade would you want?
The Dior Lip Glows are available at Sephora and all Dior counters.
