Korres Eye Shadow Cool Collection Quad

Hello again!

I know I haven’t really talked about Korres before, but ever since I tried their cherry oil lip glosses I’ve been a fanSmile. They’re a Greek company that uses mainly herbal and natural ingredients. I was about to list all the ingredients they don’t have, but I think this picture will suffice:

Korres Formula Facts

I recently purchased the Korres Eye Shadow Cool Collection Quad, but I believe this collection has been out for at least a year. From what I can gather, pricing right now for this quad ranges from $33 – $39 on various sites. I was lucky and got mine from Winners for…$8.99! I just couldn’t say no when I saw the price! I swear, I need to find a new place of employment because my lunch breaks to Winners are the main source of beauty products!

What’s interesting about these eye shadows is that they contain sunflower seed and evening primrose oil. Now, I’m not sure how these oils work in a powder form or what benefit they serve in this medium, but I guess it’s interesting to know that they’re there?

Packaging: I think it’s actually pretty cool the way each shadow is housed in its own little square case, but at the same time a little bit cumbersome as you don’t have access to all the shadows at once without individually opening each case. I guess I could always de-pot them into UNII…The case itself is pretty sturdy and I would feel totally safe with just throwing the palette into a makeup bag.

Formula: I don’t know if it was just my palette or just the two eye shadows, but Silver and Purple were VERY hard to swatch and I could not for the life of me get them anymore pigmented than what I’m showing here! Plum has got to be my favourite of the group even if Silver and Purple had swatched properly. All of the shadow also have a hint of shimmer to them.

Scent: None. Smells like makeup!

Final Verdict: Cute quad with some nice colours although the pigmentation wasn’t quite as good as I had hoped. I want to give Korres the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe their other eye shadows are of better quality like most of their other products.

  1. hmm not very pigmented at all! have you tried it with primer to see if it brings out the colour a bit more? either way, what a wicked deal! I never find good makeup at winners :(

    1. The primer didn't make much of a difference...oh sigh...it was a really good deal so I can't complain!

  2. WOW...you got a great deal! I've always wanted to try the Korres make up! Every now and then I'm lucky enough to stumble upon some nice make up at Winners but usually it's always opened and full of finger print swatch marks (gross) & thrown back on the shelves all messed up! Drives me crazy because the other day they had some beautiful Laura Mercier eye shadows but every single one of them was majorly messed with! Grrr!

    1. I know, you have to get to the makeup early!! By the next day, all the other Korres palettes had fingerprints!

  3. I've always wanted to try Korres but unfortunately am on a perma-ban, haha. At least you got a great deal despite the pigmentation issues. Winners is SO enabling though... that's why I try to avoid it because I always walk out of there with a nail polish or lotion or something.

  4. At first glance I thought they were all in one palette from the way they were set up, but then I realized they were individuals. Haha.
The colors look soo pretty in the pots, it sucks they weren't as pigmented. Maybe they'd be more pigmented with primer?
I hope you find a way to make them work how you want. (:

  9. Ah, I know what you mean about Winners! I work really close to a Winners, too, and I end up doing the same thing, haha. I was looking at these Korres eyeshadows today, and I ended up on your blog while looking for swatches. It's too bad some of the ones you got didn't show up very well.
