Review - Milani Liquif’Eye Liner

Hi Everyone!

As promised, I said I would let you guys know what I thought of the famous Milani Liquif’Eye Liner! I’ve heard so much about it from YouTubers and Bloggers alike, but because Milani isn’t readily available in Canada I haven’t gotten my hands on it until now! From what I gather, this is a drugstore brand with surprisingly good quality.

I purchased this eyeliner in Black and from the name and what I’ve seen online, has sort of a wet look when applied. I don’t know if it was the pencil I got, but I did not get the same wet look when I used it…am I supposed to dip it in water before I use it? You can see in the swatch that it has the same appearance as a standard black kohl liner.

What I loved about this product was that the eyeliner was nice and soft and really did just glide across my lid. It felt very similar to my Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero, but the main difference was that the Milani eyeliner was quite a bit more pigmented and didn’t budge as easily on me. The Urban Decay eyeliner tends to fade a bit as the work day progresses, but not the Milani one. The Milani eyeliner stays nice and just BLACK.

What I was a wee bit disappointed about was my “lack of liquif’eye” experience. I was really looking forward to it so I’m wondering if I could just have a dud of an eyeliner? The packaging also says that it’s supposed to be metallic, but it looks like a flat black to me! The Milani eyeliner is a little bit softer than the Urban Decay eyeliner I’m used to, so I have to remember not to press too hard as it can lead to a thicker line.

Final Verdict: I loved the staying power of this eyeliner so this is probably going to replace my current UD eyeliner. I love how black it is and its staying power. I think I’m going to have to get the other colours now…

    1. Hehe, you're welcome! As Small Town Gal mentioned, the lasting power is so great that it does take a bit more time to take it off because it really stays on your skin!

  2. I also got this one not too long ago and LOVE about its staying power. I am in Canada too and I got it on well. ca
The only thing I can complain about this is it takes a few extra wipes at the end of the day to remove it.

    1. Yes, you are quite right, it did take more one extra cotton pad to wipe it off completely, but other than that, great product!

  7. I was trying to figure out how I could get one of these from someone in the US, but thanks to Small Town Girl, I quickly zipped over to Well.ca to snatch one up. Of note, there is a 20% off sale right now that ends today so anyone else who might be interested should head over there quickly. They have the black, brown, silver and aqua (which I suspect is really pretty). As a reminder, free shipping at Well.ca and no minimums. :)

Thank you Jayne for your great review... as always!

  9. Eep! I want this eyeliner even more now.
I have heard some things about it wastes a lot when you sharpen it and that it gets used up really fast. Have you noticed anything like that?
Thanks for the review, I've really been wanting to see your opinion on this. (:

    1. I'v heard this too, but I found that if I want to keep a sharper point, I do need to sharpen the pencil quite a fair bit. I use a Lise Watier pencil sharpener it doesn't seem to take off too much of the pencil...
