Fifty Shades of Sephora

I honestly think most of my posts over the last couple of weeks have been haul-based. It’s pretty shameful. There are a couple more to come too! I love reading about other girl’s hauls. It’s such a guilty pleasure, so I’m hoping you all feel the same way! I don’t normally order from Sephora online, but there was a really great promo code for getting mini sample of Benefit’s Dandelion Box Powder and matching lip gloss for all orders over $35 and from there it wasn’t hard to reach the $75 free shipping! *Ahem* I may have possibly exceeded it…

The first thing I wanted to pick up were the new sparkly Scentsational Six Fruit Scented Nail Lacquers ($29) from SOPI. At first sniff, they smell pretty good! The only thing I’m hoping with these is that the scent doesn’t disappear with a topcoat…it says on the back of the box not to use a topcoat, but my nails won’t last without one and I tend to get weird dents in my polish.

I took a bit of a risk with getting this Fresh Hesperides Grapefruit gift set ($48) because I didn’t know what “Hesperides” meant (I later learned that hesperides were nymphs in Greek mythology who took care of a very peaceful garden on the edge of the Earth) and I had never smelled this scent before. So far, I have liked almost every single scent that Fresh has come out with so I just dived in and got it! The gift set came with a full sized bottle of Hesperides Grapefruit and travel sizes of the shower gel and Seaberry Body Cream. Oh, and how is the scent? Fantastic! Hesperides Grapefruit is such an amazing scent for summer and a wonderful addition to my Fresh perfume family! So glad I took the risk!

Next up, is the Tarte Glambag ($35) which also happens to be my first Tarte purchase! This gift set contains: Emphaseyes Waterproof Amazonian Clay Shadow/ Liner, Smooth Operator Micronized Clay Finishing Powder, Natural Cheek Stain, Vitamin-Infused Lipgloss, Lights, Camera, Lashes! Clinically-Proven Natural Mascara and dual-ended lip and eye shadow brush. Everything looks so awesome!

Here is the mini sampler duo of the Dandelion Brightening Face Powder and Lip Gloss. So cute!

I also decided to redeem 100 of my Beauty Bank points to try out the Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm as it has sunscreen in it as well.

Seeing as how my birthday is in July, I also had to pick up my birthday gift! I kept seeing everyone else pick up the Fresh Sugar Kisses Mini Lip Duo and I have been patiently waiting to snag one of my own! I also picked up the Caudalie Beauty Elixer which I’ve heard some wonderful things about as well as Smith’s Strawberry Lip Balm which caught me right at checkout!

For the moment, I am revelling in my Sephora goodies! I went in-store to pick up my birthday gift, but I still feel shopping online is better because you get all these samples and there are always promo codes to use for travel sized items.

What do you guys think? Do you normally shop Sephora in-store or online?

  2. I love shopping at Sephora online. Especially since it's fairly easy to spend the free shipping amount, you also end up with so many free samples. The stuff you got looks great, I love reading hauls too! (:

    1. Aren't the samples so awesome?! The $50 free shipping limit is great for you guys in the States. We have to get up to $75, but it's a lot better than what it used to be ($120!!!)

  5. lol i do the exact same thing!! i start to browse just to see if i like enough stuff to get free shipping and by then, i would've had a list that quadruples that amount.
your haul looks amazing though!! seems like i know your weakness (Benefit lipglosses)! the scented polish sounds incredibly fun and delicious! i'm always tempted to get Tarte kits. and the Too Faced BB cream sounds exciting... i love the look of their products. ahhh so much goodies!

    1. I would totally go through Sephora online. They have a lot more inventory and I find that there are a lot of online exclusives that aren't available in stores, like my perfume set.

  8. I definitely enjoy seeing other girl's hauls too! I absolutely love seeing yours! Oh man...you make me want to go shopping lol. I like shopping at Sephora online because I'll usually spend enough to get free shipping (saves me a drive. I seem to be far from the good stores lol). However...I do like shopping in the store because I can try out the products that I may be iffy about online...I love Sephora! <3

    1. I'm a bad influence! I have to drive a good ways to get to a Sephora too, so I definitely prefer ordering from them online. I also love that there are a lot of value sets and online exclusives for great deals online.

  9. Ohh.. I am drooling over your haul and it is taking all my willpower not to go to Sephora.ca right now! I usually shop online just because the nearest Sephora is 45 minutes away. I keep a running lists of things I need/want and then when it is long enough for free shipping I order. Of course whenever I am near that Sephora store I always go in and do some damage too.. sigh... That store always hurts my wallet!

    1. I always have a wishlist of stuff I want and I generally order online something like twice a year. Sephora isn't that convenient for me either so when I'm in the area I also tend to stock up!

  10. Oh man you got quite the goodies! I was so mad when they came out with the dandelion promo since I had just ordered online a couple of days ahead of time and used up 100 points for another benefit blush sample and that one came with a lip gloss! Oh well :P

    1. Oh, I would have been so mad if I had just missed the Dandelion promo! Well, at least you still received a Benefit blush and lip gloss! There weren't very many good options for the 100 pt redemption.

      I've re-followed you on Bloglovin'

    1. LOL, remember when Canadian had to get $120 worth of stuff to qualify for free shipping? $75 is a piece of cake ;-)

  12. oh wow! Jayne, I am so jealous. I. want. everything. But I tend to go into the store as I like about 20 min away from one (and its on my way home from school...) I'd like to think of it as my cardio. That, and I can't figure out how to transfer my insiders card so I can get points online.

    1. Now, that I'm done school I definitely do a lot less in store shopping since I have to make an extra trip to go in, but you're right that it's exercise going! That's weird that you can't get the points to transfer online...you should contact customer service because you just get so many more perks ordering online!
