October 2013 Empties

In my attempt to play catch up this month (I’m losing miserably!) here are my October empties!

1. Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa Sleeping Mask (7mL)Thinking smile

As a sleeping mask, this wasn’t very comfortable because it remained sticky all night and made my pillow sticky as well…it was extremely hydrating though, but I would not sleep in it.

2. Jouviance Rejeuvenating Anti-Aging Cream (5mL)Thinking smile

This was an ok moisturizer as it was hydrating and great for my dry skin, but it wasn’t any MORE amazing than what I am currently using (Clarins and skoah).

3. Lush Dirty Shaving Cream (7mL)Thinking smile

I liked it, but again this shave cream wasn’t any MORE amazing than the skoah shave cream I’m using now. I don’t shave very often since I am fortunate enough to not have a lot of hair, so I am not too picky about the cream I shave with.

4. L’Occitane Ultra Rich Body Cream in Jasmin Passion (6mL)Thumbs up

I love the L’Occitane body creams and every season they always manage to come out with beautifully scented ones. This is a scent that I didn’t think I would enjoy based on the description, but it’s lightly fruity and floral and of course leaves your skin feeling nice and plump.

5. L’Occitane Extra Gentle Soap (100g)Thumbs up

This is probably the fifth bar of soap I’ve used up and it is hands down one of my FAVOURITE bar soaps ever! It smells so rich and buttery and doesn’t leave your skin feeling stripped of moisture. It’s also the one soap that my husband actually requests I buy so how can I say no?!

6. Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Gel (5mL)Thumbs up

I’ve used HydraQuench before when my skin was just transitioning from combination to dry in my mid 20s and I quite enjoyed it. I actually don’t know why I stopped purchasing it! It’s a also a great moisturizer for underneath makeup because it’s lighter and absorbs quickly.

7. Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat (14mL)Thinking smile

I know this is a must-have for a lot of nail bloggers, but the smell, the toluene it all gets to me after awhile, so I tend to ONLY use this when I need my polish to dry really really fast. Like TRES VITE! I don’t like the shrinkage it causes with certain polishes nor do I enjoy not knowing whether that’s what it will do if I haven’t used a certain polish before. I keep a couple in my stash as a “just in case”.

8. Bentaberry Face Cream (3mL)Thumbs down

I’m glad this is done because it never really absorbs into your skin…if you were to rub your face at all later on in the day, the moisturizer just sort of peels off…

9. Rodial Glam Balm Lip (2.5mL)Thumbs up

This stuff is wonderful! It is lightly scented with roses and is an extremely thick lip balm. I use it whenever I have a stress-induced allergic reaction on my lips as it my lips gets flaky and dry. This lip balm soothes any itching and keeps all the moisture locked in.

10. Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Polish Remover Wipe (1 wipe)Thumbs up

This is great for creme polishes so don’t think you’ll be able remove your glitter-loaded mani with this one wipe. It’s a pretty BIG wipe too so you will easily be able to clean all 10 nails!

11. GoSmile Luxury Toothpaste (28g)Thinking smile

The difference in my smile is subtle and this is not a cheap toothpaste…I’m really glad I got a chance to try these through The Shopping Channel Beauty Bag though or else I would have gone through life dying of curiosity!

12. Lush Big Sea Salt Shampoo (330g)Thumbs up

This stuff is just too good! I’m surprised I haven’t listed this as a favourite before, but I love this shampoo! It smells ABSOLUTELY wonderful and makes my hair feel clean. You don’t need very much for this stuff to lather so even though it is a bit pricey for a shampoo, this will last a good couple of months.

13. L’Occitane Amande Firming and Soothing Milk Concentrate (200mL)Thinking smile

I loved this when I first got it, but I stopped liking it as much because it made my skin feel sticky which can be annoying when sitting down or getting dressed! I don’t feel like it really made a difference in firming up my skin and for the price, I’d rather just use a regular moisturizer.

14. Molton Brown Bath and Shower Gel (50mL)Thumbs up

I got this in a swap with Sian and it smells divine! It’s quite a strong scent actually, very musky and rich. The actual bath gel was just like any other and it was really the scent that won me over.

15. Nad’s Follicle Release Scrub (100mL)Thumbs down

I think I’ve had this since…2010? It had a strange texture as it was gooey with exfoliating crystals inside. It was also green so I felt like I was just putting slime on myself every time…it worked as a scrub, but it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

16. The Body Shop Satsuma Beautifying Oil (100mL)Thumbs up

These are so awesome and I’m glad Body Shop came out with these! I have just been working my way through all of the scents like we’ve all made our way through their body butters and I love all of them! These oils can be used on the face, hair and body. I’m on Coconut now, but Satsuma is my all-time favourite scent from TBS so whenever there is a great sale, I tend to stock up!

17. The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray (100mL)Thumbs up

This is the third one that I’ve finished and I don’t plan on stopping! I use this everyday after work so that my feet feel and smell better!

November empties coming soon!
